Agreed. Their faces were distorted and oddly shaped but now, everything seems to be appropriate. this page would prove how much aoyama gosha improved as a manga artist

I was thinking that there should be a page where we can compare the differences of how characters looked when they first debuted to how they look now. Gosho has definitely changed drawing styles throughout the series. I'd say that takagi has changed more than any other character though. So I thought it would be interesting to showcase how much detective conan has changed over time. Does anyone else think that this would be a page you would wanna see???

And it doesn't have to be 100% true.

New colored version!

Lol. I looked back at older posts from like a year ago... It's weird knowing that back then, there was only like 575 episodes, and now in the end of summer 2011, there's 626 episodes. In another year or two, someone will look at my post and will be like "hahaha. there's more than 700 episodes now and so much things have happened since then." *sigh* if only I can make time travel faster, just to continue watching new dc episodes without waiting every week...

I'm still trying to master the arts of drawing their faces lol. as for the colors, I found a pic with shinichi wearing a dark button-up shirt and ran wearing the white shirt with the red bandana collar thingy, so I guess I tried to recreate it. But thanks for your honest critique. I'm just about done with the background so I hope you'll like it!

I honestly can say that I DID prefer the english dub version when it was on Cartoon Network. But since they stopped dubbing the series, I started watching with subs. As of now, I 100% believe that the japanese version is better. But cmon now, I bet like half of us began the show watching it in english, then transferred to japanese.

AJ'S ART THREAD My DeviantArt Profile Theme: Detective Conan! Even though most of my drawings are of Shinichi (since he's the easiest one to draw for me), I plan to get out of my comfort zone and add more variety during the summer. But yeah, drawing DC themed pictures is a favorite pastime that I picked up about a year ago. Process: I usually draw lightly with a #2 pencil first, and then draw over it with a #1 pencil to define/darken lines. However, the longest step of the whole process is coloring with plain Crayola colored pencils, so I guess you can say my method of coloring is a little amateurish and very time consuming (but I like the challenging aspect of it :mrgreen:).
