This March article found by Waka reveals it was a pancreatic disease, although it's doubted to be cancer. http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/akb4800mk3/35694114.html

If you are looking for specific Black Organization topics, see these: Black Organization's true plan (Speculation on what is the goal of the Black Organization.) Itakura's computer program Night Baron Virus APTX 4869 Are the Magic Kaito Organization and Detective Conan Black Organization the same? How will Shinichi/Conan beat the Black Organization? Why both the FBI and CIA are separately involved with the Black Organization Why is the Black Organization "Black"? The probable ending you would give each Organization member For individual members of the Organization, see the Thread Reference Guide. Anyway, I wanted to kick start some discussion since there has been a pretty dramatic lull in manga stuff. Here are three to start, feel free to add your own. Why do you all think the Black Organization focuses on getting people into entertainment (Kir, Vermouth) when science and computer stuff is more of their end goal? Why have we not encountered any canon science/tech BO who are infiltrating clean companies? Why do you think the Black Organization members are confused about Rum's obvious appearance, like whether he is masculine or feminine, old or young, yet everyone knows and agrees about his fake eye? What do you suspect are the circumstances behind Scotch's death?

Well, like I said, there was never a case in DC where the corpse was drained of blood to make it lighter, in cases or AOs. The only somewhat similar case, the vampire mansion one, happened years after that real life murder... The reporter messed up somewhere, which is pretty typical.

Regard to the murder case above. I googled some of it. Because I'm from Thailand but heard nothing of it . http://www.thai-toku.com/cgi-bin/board/YaBB.pl?num=1277784766/9 http://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/news/article/article.aspx?aid=2922220 The first link is in Thai (Language), but say the incident happen in Korea. The second link in English also has the same victim's name, Korean. The first link explicit mention the murderers draws the trick from DC. Only for a comment below to mention that, the trick never happen in DC but possible in Kindaichi. Oh wait. The second link mention the trick as from DC as well. He allegedly suggested they drain Kim’s blood, telling them that he’d gotten the idea from “Case Closed,” a popular manga detective series. The gang consulted the Internet for tips on corpse disposal.

There was never a case involving that trick in Detective Conan. It sounds like something Kindaichi would do.

I prefer the manga because the anime screws up a lot of things, such as the messed up order of episodes, this is especially a big problem in the Conan arc, the anime also changes a lot of clues from the manga which could lead into wrong conclusions, and finally I'm just the type of person that can't wait for the next story progression if it's already available in other medias. Although I read the manga from the scans, so in some of the early arcs(especially the Haibara and Vermouth arcs) the quality is bad, not to mention the translations for these old chapters are sometimes a pain to read.

I go for the manga because it's a little more compressed in comparison, and the stories are done the way the author intended. "The Strange Person Hunt Murder Case" and "The Shinkansen's Bomb Case" for example actually are part of the Black Organization storyarc whereas in the anime they are much more basic stories. Plus, the choice to omit Gin & Vodka as well as mentions of their Organization result in the plothole for "Game Company Murder Case" where Conan somehow knows their codenames and that they are part of an organization. Not to mention that filler episodes like "Mountain Villa Bandaged Man Murder Case", "Luxury Liner Murder Case" and "Akaoni Village Fire Festival Murder Case" actually contribute to the story in the manga. Plus, the reordering of certain stories meant that some scenes (like Conan adjusting to elementary school and Sonoko meeting him for the first time) are omitted from the anime entirely.
