1 pointHi here is my speculation. Provided that: 1. Q. On the Black Syndicate/Organization? A. A formal name exists. If mentioned, the boss' name will be exposed so I can't say. (The Black Organization's formal name gives away the boss' name. "The Black Organization" is not the real name of the organization.) 2. In fact, the boss' name already appeared somewhere in the manga. Please see if you can find it. . . . ("Already appeared" "Please see if you can find it" = it seems to me like the name was just DROPPED out of nowhere and was not directly, exclusively and formally identified) 3. Sato: At the beginning of Kindaichi's serialization, I thought it would only last about a year. Aoyama: I, too, thought that it [Detective Conan] would only last about three months, since it's difficult to continue material-wise. (Aoyama revealed that he didn't expect the Detective Conan series to last longer than three months. This indicates that the boss might have been hinted early in Detective Conan.) 4. The boss chooses the alcoholic codenames for the agents, but does not have one himself/herself. (His name is not based on alcoholic drinks). So, if hints were given around three months since serialization, i think it is to be found at chapter 13 which were the names of the BLACK cats based on a horse. tei gou ou kai (A formal name exists. If mentioned, the boss' name will be exposed so I can't say) I speculate that the formal name of the "black organization" is goukaiteiou [which was the name of the horse on tv and also arranged by conan to test his hypothesis] and these words mean [and i am cherry picking meaning from http://www.eudict.com/?lang=engjpk&word=old%20man,%20venerable] (threat, assembly(organization),spy, sunken) In other words, "a secret/concealed(sunken) spy assembly (organization) which sponsors threat" And if (If mentioned, the boss' name will be exposed so I can't say), then the name of the boss would be Teiou Goukai which means [again cherry picked] (spy, old man/venerable proud, feelings of the people) In other words, "an old man/venerable spy whose people (spy members) has proud feelings for him" Yes he, the boss is a male person ( Ou = old man/venerable) It is episode 13 on the anime and it seems interesting that the episode is based on manga but HEAVILY ALTERED, which is instead of Gin and Vodka killing Akemi, she instead lived and the two black men replaced by tv original character. The correct ending is shown episode 128 few years after. It appeared to me that they were TWEAKING the episodes to give a FULL BLOWN episode to end the series on the same year with probably altered ending (which is the case on some anime shows which were based on already finished material to wrap things up faster [in case of single season show] which not exactly canon but still QUITE canon) but still identifying the boss - which didn't happen. This interpretation was skewed to the assumption that the series would not last a year. So why was the name based on some horse (INVINCIBLE, EMPEROR goukaiteiou)? Maybe the guy riding on the horse was the boss and he emulated his name for his animal - and his organization. Why would he would chose that name for his animal and his organization? Probably to hide it in public, instead of thinking some organization, layman would associate it with some horse. (Again from the name GOU = secret/concealed(sunken) Why would the boss be openly shown on TV? Probably he has the characteristic of Vermouth being known to public and popular which would explain why the boss is tolerant to her because they were similar. Notice that there is still no Vermouth this time and the boss might have been the BASIS for the EVENTUAL design of her character. Why did the old man(who is probably a black org sub contractor) named his cats after a horse? Coincidence maybe or he knew the boss and because of his "proud feelings" for the boss he his cats after him (and he loves this cats very much). Now one would argue that why would some sub contractor know the boss? Probably because that the IDEA that this black org boss was someone "super mysterious", "very exclusive", "known by few members" was STILL NONEXISTENT assuming that this series would run for just a couple of months. It was something CREATED when it was apparent that the series would run for many years. As for something else then maybe the author has some explaining to do.

1 pointHahahahaha.... that's actually a great question. Well, I was in middle of a summer binge watching fest - anything anime I could get my hands on. I had recently discovered you could watch episodes online, and it was something my mom hadn't directly disapproved of (unlike Yu-Gi-Oh! and other things available on TV..). She had let me watch Sailor Moon with my sister when I was younger and they just re-ran the first two seasons over and over. (My sister had printed out the airing schedule and everything.. XD) So after previously running through all of Sailor Moon (Some things you should probably just leave unwatched..), all currently available Naruto (that's when Shippuden was fairly new.. >.>;; and I thiiink I gave up on One Piece because the story lost my interest. So I was no stranger to watching suuuper long series. I looked up popular and suggested anime and came across Detective Conan. Now with books I have a policy: give it three chapters. If it still sucks, I'll stop reading. I had developed a similar rule with anime (I had watched several muuuch smaller seasons of anime that were recent on certain sites) and decided that anime needed three episodes to determine if I would grace it with my viewership. As an author of tons of stories on Haibara Ai, I could say thank goodness that I gave it that chance. Taking the other point of view with the amount of time wasted purely on a show, maybe I shouldn't have.. XD; ANYWAY my reaction: I hated it. The first episode confused me a bit. But I could do nothing but cringe at the art. CRINGE. Taking on episode two, there was just more of this arrogant detective brat. He was inconsiderate and inappropriate, and if his head up Ran's skirt was going to be a sign of the 500ish episodes to come (oh how that number has grown), then I wanted no part in it. Gin. Gin literally saved Detective Conan from being on the "tried it and hate it" list when he wielded his bat and knocked that arrogant jerk to the ground. And then he was a kid. And then there was a plot. A story line. People I started to care about. And before I met Haibara, I was a ShinRan x.x. I sadly spoiled the fun of learning about Haibara through the episodes because there were pictures of her when you search "detective conan" on google pictures XD But she changed the whole dynamic and I love her to pieces. So in the end, I guess we can thank Gin for knocking Shinichi out so I wouldn't hate him anymore ... Best life lesson ever?

1 pointSome thought was put into it. It's to make the movies seem more special. Goofy little Easter egg that wasn't meant to be completely noticed and appreciated by everyone, but there you go.
