Horita (堀田 Horita?), commonly referred to as Detective Horita (堀田刑事 Horita-keiji?), is a character in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan.

Background

Horita is a young detective (刑事 keiji?) in plain clothes from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, Division One Investigations. He loves Sato and is thus jealous of Takagi, much often to boycott their dates along with several other officers. He is always scared by Matsumoto.

He meets Conan in several cases and his great deduction impresses him only during Detective Takagi's kidnapping, but Conan justifies himself saying which, when he consulted Shinichi earlier on the phone, that's what he told him.[5] In the end, along with Ai, Conan shows to the police the trick used by the culprit, even if he making them to believe that is Agasa to find the evidence.[6]

During a preview case, along with other officers, he had to save Kogoro, Ran, and Conan by a bomber who wires an explosive device to their rental car.[7]

He finds the special pasta made by Azusa really delicious, so he has been coming to Café Poirot a lot recently.[8] With one of his ridiculous deductions, Genta Kojima has done just fun him.[4]
