[edit] Headers

When making a new page, there's a hierarchy of headers you can use to structure the page.

The biggest header is the page name itself and is what the wiki automatically put at the top of the page for you. In the case of this article, the main header is: "Guide".

To add sections and sub-sections, simply use the "=" sign as many times as needed before and after the section's title:

== Next biggest header: Section 1 ==

Some text here

=== Smaller header: Sub-section ===

Some more text here

==== Even smaller header: Sub-sub-section ====

Some more content

and so on...

[edit] Spoilers

When adding content for an episode (or movie, OVA, etc...), it's good practice to hide the resolution part of the case(s) within "<spoiler></spoiler>" tags. To use it, simply do:

<spoiler>
Some spoiler content that should be hidden by default.
</spoiler>

This will give:

[edit] Lists

It's good practice to use lists wherever applicable with bullets or numbers.

Here's an example of a list with bullets:

* Item 1
* Item 2
** Sub-item of item 2
** Sub-item 2 of item 2
*** Sub-sub-item of sub-item 2
* Item 3

This will give:

  • Item 1
  • Item 2
    • Sub-item of item 2
    • Sub-item 2 of item 2
      • Sub-sub-item of sub-item 2
  • Item 3

Here's an example of a list with numbers:

# Item 1
# Item 2
## Sub-item of item 2
## Sub-item 2 of item 2
### Sub-sub-item of sub-item 2
# Item 3

This will give:

  1. Item 1
  2. Item 2
    1. Sub-item of item 2
    2. Sub-item 2 of item 2
      1. Sub-sub-item of sub-item 2
  3. Item 3

You can also combine the two:

* Item 1
*# Sub-item 1
*#* Sub-sub-item 1
*# Sub-item 2
*#* Sub-sub-item 1
*#** Sub-sub-sub-item 1

This will give:

  • Item 1
    1. Sub-item 1
      • Sub-sub-item 1
    2. Sub-item 2
      • Sub-sub-item 1
        • Sub-sub-sub-item 1

[edit] Spaces and lists

Adding a lot of spaces between text just to turn them into paragraphs is not recommended. One empty line is sufficient. It's also better to make lists whenever possible instead of groups of paragraphs (making lists is very common in wikis): it's a great way to separate your points, ideas or arguments. See above under "Lists" for how lists should be used.

[edit] Miscellaneous

[edit] User tags

It is possible to add user tags to one's user page to describe oneself (e.g. physical traits, likes or dislikes, etc...).

[edit] Extensions

Certain extensions are only available on some pages (because only a few uses them) to provide optimal performance and saving on resources. If you would like to use some of them on other pages, please, simply mention it on the talk page and I'll make the corresponding changes. Thanks!

Extension Where it's available Notes
Google Maps Setting Only page to really need that so far
DCMap Setting Custom DCW extension. This allows to plot points of interest on a big map as well as dynamic magnification on mouse hovering. The magnifying feature doesn't seem to work in IE7 right now but it should work in IE8 (to be confirmed).
Tabs Anywhere Mainly used for lyrics and in a few minor spots such as appellations for characters (e.g. Conan Edogawa#Appellations).
