Yuichi Higurashi (日暮 裕一 Higurashi Yūichi, November 13, 1957–July 2001) is a Japanese screenplay writer from Chiba Prefecture.
Higurashi started his screenwriting career since 1979, a television drama series called Seibu Keisatsu, working with Hiroshi Kashiwabara, Takeo Ohno, and Junichi Miyashita. Afterwards, he was exceedingly active for crime dramas and TV animations from the 80's to 90's.
In 2001, he died of cancer, at only 43 years old.
Higurashi only participated the production of the Detective Conan anime from 1996 to 1998. He did not only wrote scripts for anime original cases, but also a severely altered manga script for once. The cases written by him were obviously Honkaku Detective Fiction (本格派推理).
