Takahisa Taira (平良 隆久 Taira Takahisa?) is a writer and has provided scenario for the Detective Conan Special series when Yutaka ABe and Denjiro Maru are in charge of it. He also written eight of the Detective Conan novels. He worked with Mutsuki Watanabe and Takehiko Hata to write the adaptations of the Detective Conan dramas.

Born in the 1960s in a heavily American influenced Okinawa, Taira grew up in the Asato neighborhood of Naha City. His childhood was spent in an American style and he enjoyed the American influence on Okinawa. In 1972, with the return of Okinawa to Japan, Taira moved to Chiba Prefecture in the mainland and started working as a scriptwriter and novelist.[1]
