The episode features Harufumi Mogi, Ikumi Soda and Saguru Hakuba, along with his pet hawk Watson, who are most notable for their appearance in the showdown Detective Conan case The Gathering of the Detectives! Shinichi Kudo vs. Kaitou Kid. Shukujiro Ogami takes the place of detective Shukuzen Ogami, who died in that case.
The title of the episode and the chapter it is based from is an allusion to Movie 10 of Detective Conan, The Private Eyes' Requiem. This movie features a meeting of detectives, just like how Hanzawa meets the undercover detectives in the episode. Hakuba appears in the movie, and Mogi and Soda appear on photographs.
