:Okay, but most of these are accurate though, except for the warehouse one (it wasn't about the warehouse itself that much, but it did play a key role) and the scissors one (a bit too clunky, though it reflects the contents of the case), but the rest is mostly just the usual "XXX Murder Case"/"XXX Case", which are just very plain and standard names. What would you name them instead? --Serinox (talk) 22:02, 4 September 2016 (CEST)

::I was meaning to say that I like the ones I listed as they contained more than just the one or two word hints. I was more talking about how if you look at the revert edit history for this upcoming flashback case its already had the names "Conan and Sera's past", "?????????", "Akai's naked festival", and now just "Ripples" from the AC hint, when we still actually know hardly anything about it. The previous case was just called "Swimsuit festival" which was taken directly from the AC hint, but the swimsuits had more to do with the plot theme than the case theme (which it seems you already changed). My comment above was really more of a "I don't understand" as to why this one or two word naming from hints started, not that it necessarily needed to be reverted, I just found it really strange that it has started happening recently. Some cases don't even get hints for them in this manor, I wonder what the people who have been doing this will do then?  (I do agree that the Scissors one is a bit long though, I usually on say the first half of it myself). I actually ind of like the "XX Murder Case" names because I usually remember cases by how the victim died, or what Youkai was blamed for it.--Jimmy-kud0-tv2 (talk) 23:40, 4 September 2016 (CEST)

:::Ahhh, sorry, I misunderstood and thought you meant to criticize the longer titles for being clunky or something. Anyway, I agree, prematurely writing down a few words from the first hints just for the sake of having something written there seems very pointless. And yeah, I changed Swimsuit Festival into Fitting Room Murder Case just now, because indeed the swimsuits turned out to be pretty irrelevant for the case.--Serinox (talk) 00:01, 5 September 2016 (CEST)

case naming

as a random comment, I really don't understand why people keep trying to name the cases based singularly on the hint words alone. Most of the cases were just given a title based on the first chapter after we got text spoilers that at least give us an actual idea of what is happening. While some of them do resemble some of the hints in the end, they usually have phrases tacked on the end that give more meaning. Some examples of hints from recent cases where just:
"old warehouse" ---> "The Old Warehouse of Teitan Elementary School" "buried treasure" ---> "Curse of the Nue"
"scissors" ----> "The Clenched Scissors and Clipped Letters"
"marriage registration" ---> "Shuukichi's Envelope Case"
"UFO" ---> "UFO Sighting Murder Case" "K-ON" ---> "Girls Band Murder Case"
"zombie" ---> "Zombie Movie Murder Case"

Okay, but most of these are accurate though, except for the warehouse one (it wasn't about the warehouse itself that much, but it did play a key role) and the scissors one (a bit too clunky, though it reflects the contents of the case), but the rest is mostly just the usual "XXX Murder Case"/"XXX Case", which are just very plain and standard names. I was meaning to say that I like the ones I listed as they contained more than just the one or two word hints.
Ahhh, sorry, I misunderstood and thought you meant to criticize the longer titles for being clunky or something.
I was the one who named the case for File 948–File 950. I typically name cases based on the file names, hence, File 948: The Clenched Scissors and File 950: The Clipped Letters. In that case, I combined the two file titles into one case title due to both clenched scissors and clipped letters being features in both Koji Haneda's murder and the murder that Shinichi/Conan and Shuichi/Subaru had to solve.
Also, I really try to avoid "XXX Murder Case"/"XXX Case" unless there's no choice in the matter. For example, to me, Swimsuit Festival or The Message Left by the Fingers sounds like a better title for the case of File 969–File 971 than Fitting Room Murder Case. --DCUniverseAficionado (talk) 08:20, 29 September 2016 (CEST)
