Conan solves the case which Ran and Aya had shared through the cellphone using Shinichi's voice and reveals that the missing old lady went to the place she last saw her daughter, the Beika Hospital. The promise that was made four years ago was when they met again, Aya would be a real actress, and Shinichi would be a real detective. The episode ends with Conan getting a text message from Ran asking Shinichi what the promise was. He feels that Ran will not call him for a while.

Trivia

• Aya Ueto is a real-life Japanese idol who's a Detective Conan fan. She voiced her own character in this episode, and later the lawyer Kyoko Tachibana in Zero the Enforcer as a special guest.
