The Monorail Sniper Case (モノレール狙撃事件 Monorēru Sogeki Jiken) is the 1016th and 1017th episode of the Detective Conan anime. Split in two parts, it aired on August 28, 2021 and September 4, 2021 as part of Season 31. Written by seasoned screenplay writer Akatsuki Yamatoya and storyboarded by Shinji Takagi, the story brings a police-style story mixed with a fast-paced action, which is reminescent of the adventure-type anime-original cases from the earlier years of the series. The plot follows a monorail in which Conan and Kogoro are riding. A rider is suddenly struck by a stray bullet. Following the source of the bullet will lead the pair to an even bigger mystery involving a disappearing victim and a mysterious and cunning sniper. The characters are brought around Toyosu, an artificial island in the port area of Tokyo notable for its fish market.
