The last 2 or 3 days nyaa has not been working.

I dont know if the site was removed cause of the new law or is it having some problems that need time to be fixed.

If anyone knows what happened tell me, cause thats where i get my conan

From what I've gathered, it's a DDoS attack.  Quite a few other anime sites have been hit and a couple are recovering, but no luck for Nyaatorrents.  And the rumors that it's because of that Japanese government campaign are not true.

The possibility can't be ruled out, but AnimeTake's Dao has stressed that it's speculation and merely speculation and should be taken as such. Personally, I think it's doubtful, since there's some significant repercussions are at stake if any government is found to host a DDoS attack.

 

It seems that the attacks did originate from Japan, though. Take that as you will.

 

Also, the websites I use haven't been hit, so I actually didn't notice this until fairly recently. Huh.
