DavidHolandaOne Posted June 13 Report Posted June 13 Making a entire new post, since it seems more recommended to do for reporting issues/suggestions regarding of the wiki. This is just copy and paste from the Wiki Mistakes thread post I made, with some changes. . With the new server migration of the Detective Conan World website, I've noticed some stuff being broken in the wiki because of it. One of them being that you can no longer go to the URL of the pages if you use actual space for the title instead of adding "_", as it gives the error "403 Forbidden". Prior to this, it was possible as the URL updates itself to add "_" in the spacing and even the Wikipedia allows the spacing usage when going to a page by URL. Some of the images are weirdly broken, like in Crossover page for example, where the MKS2 and MKS3 images are missing. The DCMap template got broken (as shown in Beika City page), only showing its source code. Same goes to the Appellations tabs as there's now extra space for them in the right. They're working fine, but because of the spacing it was given to the tabs, it overlaps with the infobox, making the links not be clickable when it's on their region. A example of this would be Detective Yama page, where you cannot click the Appearances's number link in his infobox. The EmbedVideo extension is also broken, as it cannot play any Youtube video anymore (like the trailers in the movies pages). Clicking at "Load video", the error appears "This content is blocked. Please contact the owner of the website to resolve this issue." The login system are still kinda broken, but it's not because of the email confirmation thing. It's that it always log off after a period of time on the wiki and you have to return to the forum just to log in you back. It can be frustrating if you're editing a page meanwhile and then you end up hitting with a message that you cannot save the page. The good thing is that you can still save the page when going to the forum and coming back, like the progress would still be saved. But one time, I got a error that the page could not be saved due to some login error that happened (I wish I could have screenshotted that). It made me lose a good progress on a edit in a page. I'm reporting these issues that I found and hope you get to fix them. That would be pretty appreciated.
Maurice Posted July 13 Report Posted July 13 Thanks for reporting. Regarding the issues: It seems the "403" error is an expected one as the new version of the server application was hardened in the sake of security. If it does become a real irritant, please let me know and I'll weight the pros/cons of updating of the URL "rewrite rules" to relax them a little (while losing as little grip as possible in terms of security). Good catch! When the server was upgraded, I actually replaced the custom DCMap extension by ImageMap, which does sensibly the same. The page simply needed to be updated to reflect that change. I just edited it so that <dcmap> now says <imagemap>. The map now shows properly. As for the Lyrics tab, I also replaced the custom extension by a standard one from MediaWiki (less maintenance on my part). I also noticed it went full-width. I didn't see it as being an hindrance. But if it does create too much trouble, we'll have to look at experimenting with CSS styles in order to make the tabs work better with other floating components like Infoboxes. As for the EmbedVideo, it's possible the newer version of the extension is a bit more restrictive or conscious of policy rules and usage. I took a note to investigate further. Could you find at least one video that works? As for the login system, it might be an auto-expiry measure. I can try to increase it.
