Oh dear, here we go. Was about to go to sleep when I saw this and couldn't wait until later to respond. First of all, "anime" in Japanese refers to all forms of animation regardless of style, genre, or nationality. That's because it's a shorthand version of the borrowed English word "animation". By this definition The Simpsons and Family Guy as well as The Lion King are all anime. In the west, America specifically, we have "anime" defined as "animation from Japan". This is why there's an entire Wikipedia page on anime-influenced animation, since animated series and movies made in the west can still appear to look like anime. ATLA/LoK as well as RWBY are therefor categorized as western animation, and not anime, on this side of the globe. Because this site was created by our beloved Canadian Maurice and utilizes American English as its language, organization of the forums and posts should revolve around American categorization. Otherwise we'd have Teen Titans and Totally Spies threads in the "Anime" section. And IMDb is not good at cataloging anime, therefore making it a weak source. Not to mention, anyone can just add random information so credibility is low for the less monitored pages. The two largest databases of anime in the west are MyAnimeList and Anime News Network. Because they specialize only in anime, they're far more thorough, all-encompassing, and detailed, and both have come to the conclusion that ATLA and LoK are not anime.

I actually ended up talking to him a bit, and he's an international student with rather impeccable English. I don't see him around ever unless he's in his dorm room though, but maybe we can talk some more at a later time and see if we hit it off. But yeah, he's a DC and Garnet Crow fan. I just hope I didn't accidentally get you sick through that digital hug, heehee Yeah, there's no need to play them in order (otherwise I would have recommended you start with the original NES LoZ, or somehow work your way chronologically through the very confusing and somewhat mishmashed timeline (this is a long video and I don't expect you to watch the whole thing right now, especially since it spoils some games, but it's a fantastic video regardless)), but since OoT and MM run on the same gaming engine and share pretty much the same mechanics, it would probably just be a smoother transition between the two than if you sandwiched a game in between. Not to mention, MM when compared to ALBW is considered the superior game and since you might be limited by time and/or money, I'd suggest going for the more highly acclaimed ones first. Oh my gosh, just because the songs usually don't have much to do with the plot doesn't mean you should go out and listen to them all! (Kenzi, pls, stahp, wut r u doing) I haven't actually unlocked that song yet (very close though, almost there) but uh-oh, another intense song. There are a few of those out there and they're absolutely brutal. They're already level 7+ at medium setting, and that's at the range where it takes quite a bit of practice and luck to get a decent score. Lord have mercy... Y-you're going to ignore my advice and play ALBW, sequel to A Link to the Past, instead of the direct sequel to OoT, Majora's Mask, which is generally considered one of the best and most popular Zelda games right up there with OoT, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyworld Sword??? (In all seriousness though, you do what you want to do. While I would personally strongly recommend MM over ALBW, if the premise and/or style of the latter appeals to you more then go for it.) -- OMM: Beginning of my third week of classes in college, and I've already caught a really really nasty cold. Goddammit. Doesn't help that I overexerted myself at the gym Saturday night and still feel like a bruised peach. I'm almost not even in the mood to play Alpha Sapphire.

wut, there was a Zelda thread??? Ocarina of Time 3D is the best place to start if you want to get into The Legend of Zelda series. The original for the Nintendo 64 is considered by many to be the best Zelda game ever made and by some to be one of the, if not the, best video games of all time. The 3DS version is just a high quality reskin of the original, with the gameplay mechanics still intact, only slightly altered and optimized for the 3DS. It's a game that has aged amazingly well and will not at all feel dated despite originally being released barely after Pokemon Red and Blue. If you like it, play it's sequel, Majora's Mask, after you're done. If you're still craving some LoZ after MM, perhaps go back and download some older titles via the Virtual Console on the eShop or maybe move on to newer games like A Link Between Worlds or the to-be-released Tri Force Heros.

Dailymotion link, since YouTube copyright is a meanie. Not a very action-packed opening, but the parallels to the original were great. Gin and Vodka in the window of that building was like that generic criminal jumping out of the window in the original, both openings had Ran looking upset while talking to Conan through a phone, and most obviously Conan ran up the stairs of an abandoned stone building toward a lighted doorway before dramatically turning both times. Oh yes, and opening 3 and 41 both have Conan and Shinichi in Sherlock Holmes cosplay. Not a mind-blowing opening, but I'm satisfied. And upon further inspection, I'm guessing seeing Gin and Vodka up in that tower was sort of like the prologue to having Conan run through the abandoned building in the first place. Nice little touch there.
