Shuka (朱夏 Shiyuka?) is a Japanese animation studio used for outsourcing. This studio is only involved in the production one of the Detective Conan anime episodes.

Biography

Shuka was founded in June 2013 by former Brain's Base (ブレインズ・ベース) animation producer Yumi Sato (佐藤 由美). The studio then took over the production of several anime where Yumi Sato was the animation producer, including Durarara!! x2 (デュラララ!!×2 承) (Season 2) and Natsume's Book of Friends (夏目友人帳) (Season 5 onwards). In 2016, they produced their first original animation titled 91 Days.

In Episode 9 of Natsume's Book of Friends Season 6, several staff from TMS Entertainment's V1 Studio participated as key animators, with notable names like Yasuichiro Yamamoto, Chiemi Hironaka etc. Coincidentally, Atsushi Aono (at that time he had already quit the Detective Conan production for many years) is one of the animation directors.

By reason of the aid from V1 Studio in the episode, in return, Shuka temporarily decided to help producing episode 890 of the Detective Conan anime. Owing to Aono's long-term experience as animation director and key animator for Detective Conan, Shuka requested Aono to work as animation director for that episode.
