The "Bearded guy with sunglasses" was Hitoshi Yuda in a disguise, and Maya was a hitwoman that he hired to kill Kogoro for "revealing" him as the killer of his wife. She lost her memories when she got involved in a traffic accident and hit her head; midway through the episode she recovered it, specially after Yuda kept trying to kill Kogoro himself; Maya then decided to pretend she was still amnesiac, both to set the deal with Yuda and then finish her mission of killing Kogoro. | |||
Maya's weapon was a strong floss, which she used to strangle her victims; she managed to trap Kogoro and use the floss to hang him in a makeshift gallow. By then, Conan had already notified the police and then used his super sneakers to kick a can towards Maya, forcing her to release Kogoro. | |||

Just as Kogoro's luck seems to be running out after a bad day at the horse races with a revenge fueled escaped con bearing down on him, a beautiful woman practically falls into his arms. The only problem is, she can't remember a thing about herself, except her name. Can Richard help this woman regain her memory and, if so, will it only get him into more trouble than he's already in?
