Sozo Tonami (利波 創造 Tonami Sōzō?) is a Japanese screenplay writer. He is a member of Japan Writers' Guild[1] and Japan Game Scenario Writers Association.[2]

Tonami was born in Toyama Prefecture. He was graduated from Faculty of Human Sciences, Osaka University (大阪大学人間科学部). After his graudation, he also took short-time lessons at Nikkatsu Art Academy Department of Imaging (にっかつ芸術学院映像科). He then debuted as a screenwriter in 1996, for planning and writing scenarios for the anime Saint Tail (怪盗セイント・テール); Detective Conan was the second anime he worked at.
