Sadako Baba (馬場 貞子 Baba Sadako?), known under her stage name as Sadako Barbara (バーバラ 貞子 Bābara Sadako?) is a character in the anime franchise Detective Conan.

Background

Sadako Baba was a famous fortuneteller based in Beika. Her office was named Sadako Barbara's Fortune-Telling Hall (バーバラ 貞子 占い館 Bābara Sadako uranai-kan?) and was above a nail salon. Her house was also in Beika and was a beautiful and elegant Victorian-styled mansion. She used to not be known and only have a little shop near Shibahama Station, in the Loop Line. When she raised to fame with her accurate predictions, she hired a secretary, Masaya Ogu. She was well-liked of most of her clients, except a few, which led to her death. She was killed by Ryoichi Sazanami, who resented her for not telling him the right time to start his restaurant, although he was at fault for not having told her all the information she needed. She was also possibly an acquaintance of the deceased spiritualist, Reiki Hirasaka.

Personality

Sadako was a professional fortuneteller and gave fortunes without any scamming. She was sad when three people went to complain at her.

Appearance

Sadako wearing her fortune-telling outfit.

Sadako is an average-height overweight lady with pink-dyed hair. She wore normal t-shirts and leggings when not at work while she wore a gypsy-styled suit for her fortunes.

Plot overview

The Fortuneteller and the Three Customers (Anime: 935)

On a morning, her secretary found her dead and told the police that only three police could have resented her : Shinsuke Kanawa, Ryoichi Sazanami and Fukami Endo. Conan investigated the case on behalf of Kogoro and found out the truth : that Sazanami killed her and disguised the murder as if it was a collective act the three had done. He is then arrested as he goes crazy.
