How Did Conan Knew Akai Shuich's name in 259?

I'm a little confused by it, as at the end of episode 259 (The Man From Chicago Part 2) Conan mentioned Akai's name although it was Akai's second appearance in the anime.

 

Will be much thankful for an elaboration.

Because he was probably told off-screen about it—I'd say Detective Takagi is probably the one who told him about it.

 

After all, in Shuichi's first appearance, only we (the audience) are shown Shuichi's name. 

 

This was done to show us (the audience) that Shinichi/Conan knows the name of the man in the black knitted cap from the bus jacking (Episode 230–Episode 231).

Yeah I thought about that too, although they should've taken this point into consideration as it involves a major character and a sensitive point in the plot.

In the manga, he mentioned that he heard him say his name while being interrogated as a hostage of the bus hijack, by the police, and remembered it for some reason(the anime staff decided to pull off another "gin" situation and not explain it again). Maybe he noticed his attempt to take on the robber, before the robber was shot down with the tranquilizer, and found him interesting,...or maybe he...

...subconsciously knew that Akai was important to remember because of their prior meeting, 10 years ago...

just me giving some explanation to plot convenience
