After 'Araide' took off his mask, which revealed to be Vermouth in disguise... the chapter is... in the four hundreds... and Akai... I think when Ran and Conan met him when he went out of the Telephone box (???), and Ran said he 'I don't think he is a bad guy though... because I saw him with the FBIs...' well, something along those lines... and Akai and Conan became allies was in chapter before 600...
