wouldnt it REALLY throw a wrench in conans operations, everything from his autotonamy, he needs to solve cases, on to just about everything else, if Ran, or his teachers, decided he needed to go to private school

why do I suggest that.

lets see.

3 appearent things.

he falls asleep in class, acts visibly and obviously bored.

He gets A's on tests anyway

and he feels driven to interfere with police work at time,s USUALY doing it better then the police themselvs.

iw "He's not feeling challenged enough" a unreasonable assumption

hmmn might be a good idea for a fanfic, but am curious why this has never been suggested on the show.

Wow.   That's interesting... I would say only keep that to the FanFic. It would be pretty hard to do in the actual series... OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!! He should go to Ouran!! Like in my FanFic. :P

That's true, Kogoro is actually kind of poor.. And since most of the cases he "solves" aren't actually ones he's been hired for, he won't even be paid for them. I don't think it's in their options because it's so expensive.

Also, Ran probably doesn't want to separate Conan from his friends. But you have raised an interesting point...

with this rare of gift, im sure "someone somewhere" could offer a scholarship.

its of course, the last think he'd want, but I find it interesting as it addresses so many issues.

He does get paid for some of the ones he just runs into for according to the Conan Drill. One example is the The Shinkansen's Bomb Case (M33-35, A5) where he bagged a what-seems-to-be-standard-fee of ¥120000 (~USD 1484.78) Looking at the list, he doesn't always get the money for cases he runs into, and most of his income does seem to come from cases he was hired for. I don't know if the police pays him or surviving people do out of gratitude. He still got paid ¥75000 (~USD 928.00) for the sister murder case in the bathroom with the ducttape (M197-199, A121-122), and I don't think the culprit would pay him.
