  1. You have a problem for the anime then... Everything after around episode 120 is a spoiler to you, and it will remain that way since Funimation has ceased efforts to sub and dub the series as far as I know. Case Closed was not a successful venture for them, they kept it going for as long as they did because the little fan clamor they got showed hope, but in the end it fell flat and people simply weren't buying.

Knowing this, I don't think it is logical for the forum administrator to add in a separate subforum for a dub/sub that is dead in the water.

I know you enjoy it, and I wish we could help, but really it just isn't logical. Case Closed anime is as good as dead.

As for the Viz manga well... I'll leave that up to Maurice, but it would really be a subforum under the Manga subheader if it was implemented. Same would go for the General subforum. It just doesn't make much sense to do. Many fans have moved on. Viz is up to Vol 44 and the series is up to 79.

The reason why you can't find any forums catering to just Case Closed is because there really just aren't enough Case Closed only fans. Yes we have some here, but the proportions are just not enough to warrant any major changes. There are far more fans that watch the subs of Detective Conan.

While all of this is unfortunate for Case Closed only fans like yourself, it is the current state of the fandom.

  2. Too many to list.

Just posting to make a few comments. Beatles were pop music. They made an impact and did some things other groups weren't doing. Were they fantastic? Nope. Are they overrated? Most certainly. But they aren't bad. They deserve at least a bit of respect, even if they were all about image (They were, their very first drummer was basically fired because he didn't fit the image they were going for).

Green Day... Earlier stuff good... Later stuff just bad.

Lady Gaga knows how to market herself. She is extremely talented, and I can't hate her for choosing to be popular and going in that direction. She is fantastic acoustically.

That said and on topic, the only artists I really have pure disdain for are artists like LMFAO, Rebecca Black, Nikki Minaj, Kesha, and the like, whom can barely hold a tune let alone create meaningful and thought provoking lyrics and songs. I also hate Justin Bieber for many many reasons. Mostly because he is a stupid kid who got lucky and isn't really talented musically. He is basically the flavor of the generation teenage heart throb.

I don't like rap, but I don't hate it, nor can I hate people that, by definition, I don't like the majority of what they produce, there are some brilliant word smiths in the rap scene, and I respect that. I just have too much of a bias against rap as an overarching genre to make a fair call on. I'm not the target of their music. I do like some rap and hiphop though.

  3. Personally, I found it too simple. And APTX is a toxin, not a magical shrinking drug. That is a rare side effect, that doesn't occur often (most subjects die, human and rodent). To assume Ran would shrink due to taking it, or that she would even take a strange capsule that she randomly found is just something I can't agree with.

Another issue is Anokata taking prisoners. Based on what we have seen of the Black Org, that isn't their style, as it would potentially reveal themselves. If they had the capacity to find and kidnap the Shonen Tanteidan and know their connection to Sherry and Kudo, they'd merely kill the Shonen Tanteidan, Kudo, Ran, Kogorou, Sera, Sherry and pretty much everyone else involved in this attempt to stop them or people related to.

  4. Three words:

    I can't believe this.

What are your thoughts on the subject?

Thoughts? They won't. They said the same thing about the massacre at The Dark Knight Rises midnight screening. They never showed up. However the thought and the things they already do should be enough to grant them great hatred.

I'm still waiting for the day that they will be branded as a hate group like the KKK. I am really hoping that this petition will take hold and make them into a hate group that will be regulated.

In fact, if you can, SIGN THAT PETITION!

(And yes, those are the only petitions that I actually will condone since they go directly to the government and are supported by the government. It isn't like a Change.org petition (or any other nongovernment affiliated petition site))

  5. Just use the British definition of fag! And the original definition of gay!

Fag - a tiring or unwelcome task (or British Slang for "cigarette") The derogatory word is fairly modern (around 1920s)... shame that it caught on...

Gay (original definition) - lighthearted and carefree (Consequently the term being made to mean homosexual is fairly recent too... about the 1930s. And to mean stupid, even more so, and nonsensical at that)

  6. Makoto and “Okiya” are clearly the strongest in my opinion, just because Makoto is a teenager doesn’t mean that he can’t fight as well as adults

about Satō I don’t know, I don’t remember much about her fighting, just some random subduing of weak criminals I guess

Strength means nothing. He is quite strong, but there is no replacement for real life experience. Also Karate is notoriously unbalanced for real world combat, which is a detriment to him. All anyone needs to do is dodge or take his first attack and get in close to grapple, and he is done.

Teenagers are just inexperienced in real world combat. That is why Jodie, Kogorou, Okiya, Satou are the top fighters. They have been in the real world, and they all know grappling as well as striking (yes, Kogorou's main style is judo, but he is still trained as a police detective which means he is proficient in basic striking). So while Makoto could fight many adults in pure striking, he couldn't stand a chance against the seasoned adults when anything goes.

This is especially true of a kid whom is undefeated in the ring of only striking martial arts. He goes to international competitions. There are rules and regulations. Reaction time would be slower for moves that are illegal in those competitions. Considering that I taught martial arts and have fought in the ring, and fought no rules (other than stopping short of certain areas)... I can tell you that ring fighters fail quickly when anything goes.

Want proof? Look into mixed martial arts, and find me a champion who does NOT do any grappling. I'll tell you right now... it isn't many if any at all. Why? Because a balanced or grappling only style trumps striking only nearly 100% of the time. It is the reason I started learning grappling.

  7. I forgot to mention Jodie she could be a strong contender as well.

She doesn't seem to have the ferocity of Satou. She might be a good fighter but would probably be third after Okiya and Satou. She probably has better training though than that of Satou though. I'd pay to see that fight, would be a great one. I'd put my money on Satou though. I just get the feeling she is the better fighter. (I also might be slightly biased as I like Satou more then Jodie)

So many variables. But I stand by my initial analysis.

And I am sad that people seem to be ignoring my analysis and people keep on voting for the teenagers :(

  8. I did forget about Heiji, but he is barely worth mentioning... Heiji is a kendo guy. He needs a stick to really shine. Without it he is darn near useless. He can do basic kicks, but they are secondary to his shinai or bokken. So he fails too. I just want to get that out of the way before Heiji fans complain about my omission of him XD.

And Kaitou Kid is definitely not a fighter. He is a trickster. He'll set off a smoke bomb and escape rather than throw a punch or kick.

And I am glad you all enjoyed my breakdown ;)

Edit: HUZZAH! 1000th post! (granted like 7 of them are reserve posts for my tox thread)

  9. Let me go through a breakdown of each character...

Mouri Ran - Karate Black Belt and captain of the HS Karate team. Is shown to be proficient at many kicks and physically very strong. Easily defeated when scared or unprepared. In competition she is probably very effective, but not so much in the real world.

Mouri Kogorou - [likely] A Judo black belt. Sucked in competition, was great in practice. Also a former police detective, meaning he dealt with criminals on a regular basis. Has been shown to be proficient in a pinch, and has great reaction. He is a strong contender.

Kazuha Toyama - Proficient in Aikido. The softest of the martial arts of the characters. Her abilities have been shown to be effective. Aikido is a fantastic defensive martial art. However lack of real world experience and lack of showing of her abilities make it difficult to put her in the running for best fighter. Perhaps she could become a contender with experience.

Makoto Kyogoku - Same as Ran likely. However, unlike Ran seems to keep a cooler head and not let his emotions get the better of him in life threatening situations. He is undefeated in the ring, and has been shown to be highly effective in real world situations, even taking a knife to his arm and not blinking, to defeat his opponent. However, lack of real world experience is a detriment. He is however in the running due to the aforementioned bout with a criminal. (Also being able to dodge a bullet (not possible, but still worth noting for the purposes of this comparison))

Subaru Okiya - Okiya is Akai, that is pretty apparent now. That means he took FBI hand to hand training. He was considered a top agent and likely had extensive experience all over the world and training in the FBI hand to hand combat techniques from the FBI training facility in Quantico. He is the a top contender for best fighter, due to this, despite not seeing anything first hand.

Masumi Sera - Jeet Kun Do practitioner. Now despite my own feelings about this "martial art" (I won't get into that now as it is irrelevant) it is probably the most effective of the chosen martial arts here. Mainly due to the philosophy of it, which is learn which is effective for you from various other martial arts, and take in what is most effective. Making a custom mixed martial art that accentuates the strengths of the practitioner and limits the weaknesses. Now naturally, if she learned the actual system that Bruce Lee devised, it is far less effective for her, mainly because it was designed for him, or whom he taught. There is only so much you can derive from that. If she took the essence of the system of which Bruce Lee devised it would make her a formidable foe. However, her lack of experience makes her hard to consider for "best." She is probably the best TEENAGED fighter of the bunch, just not overall.

Miwako Sato - Easily the best of the MPD. She has training, and by the looks of it has street fighting experience. While her technique is not perfectly refined, she knows an array of techinques and strikes and is physically strong. She has the experience to back it up as well. Being taught the police hand to hand combat techniques, and from what we have seen, she goes for grappling to subdue (standard police protocol) when possible. Of not she just goes crazy with striking. She has high levels of experience and high levels of training. She is an extremely strong contender.

Black Org Members - Well of the ones we have seen, it is likely that Gin, Bourbon and Vermouth are the most skilled in hand to hand. However, the amount of experience and skill they each have is completely unknown. Gin we know is tough as nails, shooting himself to not succumb to tranqs. Vermouth likely has training as an actress, and Bourbon likely as another top member who is active in the field also has experience. However, the lack of data makes it hard to come to any strict conclusion. It is possible that any of them could be stronger than anyone else.

SO! Overall... The teenagers are all out. Fighting a seasoned fighter would doom them. They couldn't keep up, and likely the more experienced knows what will work and be most effective from first hand experience. So Ran, Kazuha, Makoto and Sera are all not the strongest (Did anyone really expect them to be?)

Next is Kogorou... He has experience and training, but he is likely out of practice. That is the biggest detriment to him. If he was still active in the MPD he would likely be higher up there.

BO are simply too unknown. It is possible, but for the purposes of this, not going to happen. Gin is definitely tough, but does that make him the best fighter? Possible, but I can't say for certain. Vermouth probably has formal training. And Bourbon as well. As they are all close quarter and covert operatives. Meaning they would all need to know how to deal with close quarter combat. Lack of information prevents any significant conclusion though.

Then we finally come to Sato and Okiya. They are about the same in my book. I'd give the edge to Okiya due to rigor of training and international field work which would give him more experience. Also being trained in Quantico probably trumps the training facilities in Japan for the MPD.

So in my opinion Okiya is best fighter in Detective Conan

  10. 言い訳

    言い訳か。かんたんよ。 それは違法だです。

Since my Japanese is limited, I'll put it simply in English if you still don't get it... It's a matter of copyright infringement. Maurice, the admin of this forum and site, could get sued by the rights holders of Detective Conan in America, Japan or both.

You would have known this had you read what I linked to you in the first place.

Now before I say something I'll regret I'll go ahead and report this thread so it can be locked.

  11. pls help me to watch the episodes here in DCW

It's gone and not likely coming back, at least not in the immediate future. The current watch section is for reference only.

Please next time search around a bit before making a topic. This question has been asked far too many times.

  12. Nope! Because I are ALWAYS using it. I hate Opera or chrome

Meanwhile, add me to your list, Sera-chan!

Just because you always use it doesn't make it secure. IE9 is much better in that regard, but based on latest security tests, Chrome is still the most secure browser.

  13. I do use internet explorer, but I don't want chrome or firefox or anything, those things have viruses, I remember I downloaded google chrome, and there were about 49 viruses on my computer, I know this because my desktop changed to the message "Your laptop has contained viruses, please remove immediatly". So I got rid of it and deleated GC and went back to IE. But of course it isn't slow, it's only really slow when it starts up.:unsure:

Though it would be fun to talk to someone without millions of duplicates in the way.

No, they don't have viruses. Chrome is in fact the most secure browser too. I think your computer has bigger issues if downloading chrome "gives" you viruses. Or you need a better/new anti-virus. You should also probably run ad-aware.

  14. You know, I just figured this out due to a friend. Apparently I'm demisexual.

I didn't realize this before... Very interesting.

    Demisexuality

I mean... The people I tend to "like" are usually close friends, who I know extremely well. I don't think I could really date someone I didn't know anything about. There are quite a few varieties of sexuality, rather than the plain homosexual, bisexual and heterosexual. I'd like to read up on a few more types. If you guys ever have time, you should try reading too! Maybe you'll find out something interesting.

That is rather interesting. I know a few people that may fall into that category, myself included. I just don't fall for people. And it takes me a while to feel any sort of sexual attraction to people.

  15. .

While I agree no one should be killed, this kind of makes me think of Facebook where people go 'Like' to help cure cancer! Unless we actually volunteer to go to these countries or donate money (which I wouldn't recommend unless you trust the charity won't use the money for their own selfish means, which unfortunately, many do) to the cause, sitting here on the computer and typing 'I support the cause!' is going to do nothing. Most people already know this stuff after all. Unless you go sponsor a program that delivers speeches talking about these topics in poorer areas where things like this are more prevalent, I'm going to be honest and say we're not doing anything. If this is a petition, well... you have to be more specific than 'save innocent lives.' From what? I mean, you could start a petition telling NATO to protect children from becoming soldiers in Africa and they would listen if you got a few million signatures. (though... I bet they're already trying.) I think that's probably what Chels was trying to say, though, in less harsh and pessimistic tones than me. X) Words on the internet don't do anything on a small site like this- they only start to take meaning when taken into real life...

Just to note, even with a petition of a million strong, it wouldn't encourage NATO to do anything. There are far more political and societal considerations to be made by NATO before they act. They could care less what 1 million American (and perhaps some European) people think. In the end its just an electronic record of some people who wanted to feel smugly superior because they signed a petition to try and have action made to help those poor children.

While it is true that awareness can be raised, I don't think anyone on this site is naive to the happenings of the world, so I'm pretty sure, at least on this site, awareness has already been raised.

  16. another question.

it might be unrelated or what but i wanna know you're opinions.

Do you think the Black Organization Conan is going after is the same Organization as Kaito Kid is after?

. I think at some point they are.

    HAHA.

No, Gosho went on record saying this wasn't so. He is keeping the two organizations separate. Whether it is so he can continue with Magic Kaitou, or just to forgo any unnecessary confusion, he made this point quite clear.
