      Well, html and css are just mark-up, so they're easy - but JavaScript, PHP, etc. are actual programming languages - I didn't understand them until I took a class in C++. O'Reilly's books are excellent, so I guess buy their books on html5, css3, JavasScript, and PHP? If you want to build a website and actually host it using your own money, I recommend using wordpress as a template.

      Although, these days PHP is getting a lot of slack and some people are calling to replace it with Python - and Python is an extremely popular language, so learning Python shouldn't hurt, either.
