Random thought: Why the eff were GIn and Vodka on that roller coaster in episode one to begin with!?!? They didn't seem to have a purpose there at all! D: then shinichi and ran would be together (maybe!)

They were there to check if the man they were blackmailing came alone. From the top of the rollercoaster they could see where the man was waiting.
As for me, I've always wondered if the reason Gin was looking at the diagram of where everyone was sitting was because he was planning to solve the mystery and get himself and Vodka out of trouble before they were searched...
