I had to look up the dictionary/thesaurus to come up with this term, but I believe she is diffident.
It seems that unlike Conan/Shinichi, Ai/Shiho has insufficient self confidence during times of crisis. She also tends to assume the worst with respect to most people she encounters.
-
I think this will most likely happen only after the Black Organization is taken down. Both Dr. Agasa and Ai have emphasized to Conan that Ran would be targeted by the BO if he told her the truth about what happened to him.
-
I believe that this breakup is unrealistic. Even if it were to happen, it would only be temporary at best. Remember Sato's breakup with Takagi at the end of episode 302? Guess what? It didn't last. Just two episodes later, Sato's other love interest (Matsuda) was killed by a bomb, and by the end of that episode she took up Takagi once again.
-
I have a feeling that if Ai survives the demise of the Black Organization, she might end up getting arrested/prosecuted for her past affiliation with the BO. Does anyone else agree with this theory?

HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU, FOLKS? Having Shinichi marry Shiho is simply not realistic, because it is extremely unlikely that Shinichi will dump Ran (or vice versa) in the foreseeable future.
If you're unwilling to accept this reality, then that's not my problem. Otherwise, be my guest.

English: I have been living in the US since 1994, when I was not yet 6.
Chinese (Mandarin): My parents' native language.
Spanish: I studied this language in middle school and high school. Although I could probably make myself understood online in this language, I would still need an interpreter if I were to carry on a conversation in this language.

I think many people, like me, do realize that pairing Conan/Shinichi with Ai/Shiho, however fun and exciting it may be, is an unrealistic pipe dream, for reasons I mentioned earlier. As such, don't be surprised if you are outnumbered in this category.

I'm not sure whether the show would still have any air left in it after Conan either changes back or discloses himself - as I mentioned before, I think the producers have deliberately delayed letting Conan go back to normal and/or disclose himself to avoid taking the air out of the series.

It seems to me that Sato was never in love with Shiratori at any time. This is probably why, for instance, she never accepted Shiratori's offers to dine out at high-scale restaurants. Additionally, during Sato's forced marriage, she acknowledged how important Takagi was to her just moments before she was about to kiss Shiratori (which, as we all know, was interrupted at the last minute). The only time Sato actually loved someone else was during episodes 301-302 and 304, when she fell in love with Matsuda, but Matsuda died during the apartment bombing case. I think this is part of the reason why, after breaking up with Takagi in 302, Sato had to take up Takagi once again by the end of 304.

If my perception is correct, it seems that every time Kogoro & Eri take a step toward reconciliation, they take two steps back shortly afterwards. The most recent anime episode seems to reinforce this perception. It would seem to me that the producers are deliberately hindering any sort of progress toward the reconciliation of these two. Does anyone have any ideas what the producers may have in mind for these two?

I do not recommend people trying to arrange face-to-face meetings with people they only know through this forum. There have been plenty of documented cases of people arranging to meet "friends" they met online, only to find out that those "friends" were actually dangerous people.

From episode 485 (I think), it seems that Conan's cellphone has multiple numbers attached to it (one for Conan Edogawa, another for Shinichi Kudo). Is that the case? Is it possible in real life to have multiple numbers attached to one phone?
-
If you want some ideas as to what may happen in this scenario, refer to Conan's bad dream at the beginning of Movie 13 (Raven Chaser). I think that if Gin & Vodka were to catch Conan off guard, they would at least attempt to put bullets into Conan/Shinichi after realizing that their drug did not do the trick.

Speaking of multiple dubbed names for individual characters, in the Latin American dub, some "peripheral" characters had multiple dubbed names.
For example, Heiji had the following dubbed names: Alfredo Adame, Alfredo Gutiérrez, Hector Garza, Nano Díaz, Marcos, and Alex. Sonoko had the following dubbed names: Susana, Alicia, Sandra, and Sarita. Both Yusaku and Yukiko Kudo had two different dubbed names apiece (Arturo & Gerardo Jackson for Yusaku, Loreta & Hortencia Jackson for Yukiko).
-
I have a hunch about what will happen next in this particular story line, and it will lead to serious rammifications for multiple characters.
-
your reasons?
Let me answer from Conan's point of view: At this time, Conan shows no signs of breaking up with the person he currently likes, and that is not likely to change in the foreseeable future.
-
Does anyone here remember the Latin American dubbed version of DC that ran from 1998 to 2000? That version used hispanic names for the characters, but it seems funny that they would use the Anglo-sounding name of "Bobby Jackson" for Shinichi. Additionally, "peripheral" characters had multiple dubbed names (Heiji had four or five, Sonoko had three or four, and both Kudo parents had two).

I believe it may be because black has been seen as the color of crime (many criminals wear black when committing their crimes).
-
If I were to pick a "good guy" to sacrifice, my top choice would be Kogoro. I think he's probably a bigoted person, and I predict that he will go downhill very quickly after Conan regains his regular form for good.

From Episode 330:
Suspect: I got my revenge on that woman who trampled all over "friendship"!
Ayumi: That's not a friend at all!
[suspect turns around]
Ayumi: You were never friends, even from the beginning...
Ai: Yeah, she's right. It's like an automated vending machine for canned juice. You'll get what you want so long as you have the money, but you get nothing in return without it. You can't buy your way into the hearts of others.
[suspect cries]

Let me ask you a question: Which version are you watching? If it's the English dubbed version, there's only 130 episodes because Funimation decided against dubbing additional episodes. The original Japanese version now has almost 600 episodes, and the majority of these episodes are available with English subtitles. If you're only following the Funimation dubbed version, it shouldn't be surprising that you've been missing out on many major character/plot developments, as there are plenty of them in the non-Funimation dubbed episodes.
-
Let me also remind everyone again that from 1998 to about 2000, there was a dubbed version in Latin America which substituted hispanic names for the characters, and that version lasted only about 120-130 episodes before going off the air. As such, it shouldn't be surprising that the English dub didn't last long either.

This phenomenon is called "floating timeline" and it is not unique to Detective Conan:
