No problem. Arsene Lupin was written at about the same time as Sherlock Holmes, but in France. Arsene Lupin, Gentleman Thief. I've actually yet to read any of it, but they're supposed to be like mysteries.
Oh, if you've ever seen Lupin the Third (I hope you haven't) that's who it's based from. In fact the main character is his grandson.
