It couldn't come back, like I said it's the same as Holmes. If Shinichi is Holmes, then the B.O. is Moriarty's crime empire. Even when Moriarty dies the rest of the crime empire would have continued to hunt down and destroy everything that Holmes cared for.
Seeing how much Gosho actually ties between books and DC I wouldn't be alarmed if it ended the same way.
