Entertainment

Kamen Yaiba

A sentai-type TV show in Japan which is admired by The Detective Boys. Its real-life counterpart are the many sentai shows from Japan, but in name it might be the most related to the "Kamen Rider Skyrider series by Shorostori Ishimoto

Gomera Movies

A collection of movies centered around a giant monster named Gomera. Its real-life counterpart is the Godzilla movie franchise.

Night Baron Series

A book series written by Yusaku Kudo.

Detective Samonji

A murder mystery book written by author Shinmei Nintaro, that has received a television follow up. The ID of the murderer changes each time to maintain viewer interest. Both Ran Mouri and Shinichi Kudo enjoy the series.

Yoko Okino

She is an Idol who sings, dances and acts. Kogoro dream woman is this pop idol Yoko Okino, and he never misses her television shows. The name "Yoko Okino" is probably a reference to the Japanese-American artist and musician Ono Yōko. Also Kogoro Mouri has had an opportunity to be staring in a Yoko TV show, as seen i Detective Conan OVA 6 'Pursuit of the Vanished Diamond! Conan, Heiji vs Kid'. She has also appeared in some of the cases.

Sports

Soccer

Shinichi appears to be very fond of soccer. He often fiddles around with a soccer ball when solving cases. In one episode Ran remarks that Conan kicks a soccer ball surprisingly well just like Shinichi and that Shinichi also kicks a soccer ball when he's thinking. Conan also has a pair of power shoes made by Professor Agasa which he uses to kick balls and anything round he can find at someone when he is in danger.

Karate

Ran is the captain of the Teitan High School karate team. Ran sometimes uses her karate to defend herself or protect Conan or others. She sometimes punches something when angry to prove that she can beat anyone up if she wanted to, usually causing Conan, Shinichi, and Kogoro to do exactly what she wants, for fear of becoming her next victim. Sonoko's boyfriend, Makoto Kyogoku, is also a karate champion and uses his karate to protect Sonoko.
