Trivia
* It is unclear how Shinichi can leave Japan in Conan's identity. A later episode showed that Conan cannot fake his passport, and to travel abroad he needed to turn back to Shinichi Kudo, which was impossible at that point since none of the methods to turn Conan to Shinichi is known yet. It is possible that Yusaku may use his connection at Interpol to arrange for the move, which is unconfirmed.

* This is the first time that Conan has been abducted, chloroformed, and bound with rope.
+
* The hatchback is driven by fumiyo is Dragongrun Perleff. M. 1995 Volkswagen Polo III [Typ 6N].
* In the Home of Beika's Grenier, Yusaku claims to be a Mystery Writer, not an actor, however he sure did a bang-up job of convincing his son that he was a real psycopath, the way that he kept talking about "Killing the boy" or "Killing the contact, "Cannot allow anyone to live, who knows about the syndicate."
+
* Conan wears a hat with a 'K' on it, and considering his last name is really Kudo.
* This episode reveals Yukiko Kudo has a real talent for disguise, and that she can also apply it to others.

* Yusaku Kudo was disguised as the Night Baron, a villian in many, if not all, of his books, so he was surprised that his son did not see through his disguise.

* Professor Agasa was dressed up in a minor gadget that he created, in order to play along with the Shinichi's parents' playacting lesson.

* Apparently Conan Edogawa cannot use a fake passport, although his parents can use a fake birth certificate, such as the proof that Fumiyo Edogawa is the mother to Conan Edogawa.

* Apparently, the Kudo Parents know about the Organization already, and their son keeps calling them "Men In Black."

* This is the first mention of referring to the men in black as a syndicate.

* Conan showed his parents, that he believes in retribution, by getting revenge, by calling all of his father's editors and publishers, and letting them know where Yusaku Kudo is, and the license number of the airplane.

* Shinichi's parents were worried when they came home to an empty house, and had to go to Professor Agasa's in order to find out what whas going on with their son, which only made them more worried, so they decided to come up with this role play lesson in order to teach him that it is very dangerous.

* Plus his parents wanted him to go to America where their more vulnerable son would be safe.

* In the holding spot on the second floor, there was a window to jump out and hope snow would cushion the fall, an empty refrigerator, and a small hiding spot under the floor to hide.

* The hotel was Beika Hotel.

* Since the Night Baron deactivated Conan's wrist watch gadget, most likely Agasa told the parents about all of the gadgets that he made for little Shinichi.

* The way that Yukiko told her son to "stop playing his detective games, " kind of leads to her thinking like oblivious adults, and others, who claim that Conan "is Playing Detective," considering that is who he is, and who they raised him to be, however that could simply be due to the fact that she is much more worried about him now, since he is so vulnerable as a 7 year old child, and if he keeps being the skilled detective that she and Yusaku raised, he may end up getting killed, but next time for real, by the Men in Black Syndicate, who he seems determined to bring down.

* This is the only episode that Yukiko Kudo was disguised as Fumiyo Edogawa, who Ran and Kogoro know to be Conan's mother, even though she will show up in future episodes as herself and other disguises.

* Fumiyo Edogawa gave Kogoro Mouri a 100,000,000 yen check to continue taking care of Conan for her, and begins teasing Conan over his crush with Ran, although she probably did that before he was shrunk, and as herself as well.

* This is the first time that Conan attempts to tranquilize a culprit, and in this case, his father, the Night Baron Disquise, with his Stun-Gun Wristwatch, however the Night Baron deactivated that interesting little gadget after he was first captured, and probably unconscious from the chloroform.

Situation

After realizing that Conan's parents have not contacted them (Kogoro and Ran Mouri) for a long stretch of time, Ran asks when his parents will be returning from overseas. Suddenly, a woman by the name of Fumiyo Edogawa enters the Mouri Detective Agency and admits to the group that she is Conan's mother and wishes to take Conan home. Soon after, Conan revels on the idea and absolute truth that this person is indeed not his mother, as Conan does not really exist, and begins to grow anxious. Worrying that she might harm his new found "family", he goes along with Fumiyo, planning to get away and figure out the mess he's gotten himself into. En route, Fumiyo reveals in Conan's horror that she knows Conan's identity as Shinichi Kudo, together with his family's background. Conan escapes from her car and rushes to Professor Agasa' house, but is kidnapped again by Fumiyo before he has a chance to contact him.

EP43 Case.jpg

Location: Fumiyo Edogawa's car
Victim: Conan Edogawa
Culprit: Fumiyo Edogawa
A mysterious woman Conan doesn't know claims to be Conan's mother. It sounds like she is part of the Black Organization. She has two suspicious partners, a creepy man who wears a mask and hat, and a very tall man.

When being tied, Conan overhears the conversation between Fumiyo and her supervisor, who is a masked man. They apparently come from Black Organization and are surprised about the truth of the mysterious drug that shrinks Shinichi into Conan. Bringing in the drug, they plan to test it tomorrow on a man whom the organization has planned to kill anyway, afterwards they will kill Conan.

The next day, Conan escapes their notice by untying and leaves false trace on his whereabout. From the clues Fumiyo and the masked man left, Conan figures out they will meet the man at Beika Hotel, room 301. He calls the room service to order food to that room, disabling the room lock in the process and hides in a closet. Unfortunately for him, the masked man figures out Conan's plan and forces him out at gunpoint. To add insult to his injury, he has previously disabled Conan's stun gun wristwatch. He prepares to shoot Conan, telling him he should regret for underestimating him in the other world.
