Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle, DL (22 May 1859 – 7 July 1930) was a Scottish author most noted for his stories about the detective Sherlock Holmes, which are generally considered a major innovation in the field of crime fiction, and for the adventures of Professor Challenger. He was a prolific writer whose other works include science fiction stories, historical novels, plays and romances, poetry, and non-fiction.

  • In The Evidence That Didn't Disappear each of the 3 dogs, though two dogs now because one dog is deceased, owned by the Kanou family are named after Arthur Conan Doyle; Arthur who is a Shiba Inu dog owned by Teruya, Doyle who is a Papillon dog and Conan who was Mr Kanou dog and a Shepard dog but Conan died of a illnesses two years before the episode.
  • Shinichi Kudo used the name Conan from Arthur Conan Doyle asa his first name as a part of his aliases for his shrunken form as Conan Edogawa.
  • In Movie 23 Conan used the aliases Arthur Hirai while in Singapore which the forename is derived from Arthur Conan Doyle just like how Shinichi came up with the name Conan Edogawa.
