Toko Machida (待田 堂子 Machida Tōko?), born August 8, 1964, is a Japanese screenplay writer. She is the series organizer for Shin Samurai-den Yaiba anime.

Biography

Toko Machida graduated from Scenario Center Aoyama School (シナリオ・センター青山校)[1]. Whilst being a student, she was selected as a nominee for the Hashida Sugako Scenario Newcomer Award (橋田寿賀子シナリオ新人賞) in 1999. She began her career in 2001; in 2006, she became a lead screenwriter for the first time with Ramen Fighter Miki (無敵看板娘)[2]. Since then, she has worked on more than 40 other projects as a screenwriter.

Machida joined the production of Yaiba: Samurai Legend in 2025, being in charge of the screenplay of the anime.
