If you like someone's post, or think that it was helpful to you and you want to thank him, just vote it up and higher his reputation (little square-shaped green button with an "up" arrow on it). It's simple and more than enough. Adding any more will just be an entertainment for the spammers, and this forum will turn into Facebook. 2

I agree, if this site had them, then people would do "competitions" like whoever gets the most likes or something like that. 1
