Yoko Okino

She is an Idol who sings, dances and acts. Kogoro dream woman is this pop idol Yoko Okino, and he never misses her television shows. The name "Yoko Okino" is probably a reference to the Japanese-American artist and musician Ono Yōko. She has appeared in some of the cases.

Sports

Soccer

Shinichi appears to be very fond of soccer. He often fiddles around with a soccer ball when solving cases. In one episode Ran remarks that Conan kicks a soccer ball surprisingly well just like Shinichi and that Shinichi also kicks a soccer ball when he's thinking. Conan also has a pair of power shoes made by Proffesor Agasa which he uses to kick balls and anything round he can find at someone when he is in danger.

Baseball

Baseball is a big sport in Japan and taken seriously from high school onwards. Kudō Shinichi isn't shown that much interest in the sport. And when shown as Edogawa Conan, he and will often play games like baseball with the Detective Boys. But we can see that he prefers playing soccer. Which can be found strange by the people surrounding. On the other hand, Heiji Hattori is a big fan of baseball, and is most of the time shown wearing an Osaka cap, to support the local Osaka baseball team.

Karate

Ran is the captin of the karate team. Most are surprised that her hobby is karate. Ran sometimes uses her karate to defend herself or protect Conan and/or others. She sometimes punches something when she is angry to prove that she can beat anyone up if she wanted to, usually when she does that Conan, Shinichi, and Kogoru Mouri does exactly what she wants, the reason may be that they are afraid. Though sometimes, even though she knows karate, Ran may still act like a scared little girl ;P

Trivia

  • In Japan, the national police telephone number is 110. It is mentioned a few times in the series.
