Here are the bottom-line spoilers:

The culprit is Tamaki Itō. She blamed Yūta Kitakura for the death of Kaori Nanjō's brother, Takehiko, in a fire 3 months ago, thinking he left Takehiko to die and intended harm to more of them. However, the emergency call Yūta made during the fire reveals that Takehiko told Yūta to save Tamaki even if it meant he himself would die. Just then, a nurse informs them that Yūta has regained consciousness from the accident Tamaki caused.

 

And some thoughts of mine:

Takehiko seems to be a parallel to Shinichi/Conan, Tamaki seems to be a parallel to Shiho/Ai, Yūta seems to be a parallel to Genta,  Kaori seems to be a parallel to Ayumi and Shichisuke Kasai seems to be a parallel to Mitsuhiko.

 

Now obviously this can't be 1 to 1, because Shinichi/Conan isn't Ayumi's brother (at least, not blood-related), and I definitely don't think Shiho/Ai is going to try to kill Genta over a misunderstanding, but this parallel between the DBs and the group in this case could potentially be foreshadowing.
