Anime-original episodes are not non-canon

There's something interesting that I've found out: while anime-original episodes are not canon to the manga, they are considered canon to the anime episodes that are based on the manga. And thus, Detective Conan has 2 continuities, the manga continuity and the anime continuity, which the anime continuity consists of everything happened in the manga + anime-original episodes + all the movies. One example of this being some anime-original characters were mentioned in the anime version of the Locked Bathroom Murder Case, despite the characters themselves not making any appearances in the manga.
