ok so im 36 years old, i have 6 kids and i got into detective conan a bunch of years back when i was shopping for xmas present for my kids. i was at gamestop back when gamestop sold used dvds and they had a special running, something like buy 3, get 5 free (hey, you take a deal where you can find it when you got 6 kids, lol). of course i should have known at that time to stock up on a lot of anime for the kids, but i digress.
so i grabbed a detective conan 3 episode disc amongst a few other filler gifts, never having heard of it. my one daughter and one son loved it, previously having watched trigun, azumanga daioh, dragonball, GTO, inuyasha and a few other anime series (they were like 6 and 8 at the time). since then weve bought all the season sets, all the movies in english and now that theyre in their teens, are tech savvy enough to find subs here and there, wink wink.
i think its a shame that were not getting more translated episodes, but what can you do. if the series ended, we wouldn't get more episodes anyhow, so i lok at the subs as a free gift even though id be willing to pay for them, again, i got 6 kids, you save where you can, lol
my question is not really mind blowing, but do they show detective conan reruns in japan? on the dcw site, under the anime, they have the release dates and looking at the recent episodes it goes from may 18th to june 8. were the 25th and 1st reruns?
also as im typing away here, another question popped into my im glad to hear anyone elses input: do they ever have 1 hour specials anymore? i though earlier on in the series, they were more frequent, or it could just be me..
