Hey I watched movie 10 today for kicks and I realized that Kaitou Kid said he had a friend taken hostage in the park as well. Was he lying to get Hattori and Conan to trust him or was it true?

It was a lie. Kaito needed a reason to have one of the passes when he was disguised as Hakuba. He took the one Sonoko had and returned it later~
