Conan's investigating soon uncovers the alibi trick. Kawaguchi confined Yoda in the clock's utility room while he established his alibi. Then he came back, killed him, and cut Yoda's cheek on the clock hand, before leaving the corpse and escaping. The proof is the blood on the stone next to the #12 and the dying message in the utility room, clearly identifying '''Kyoichiro Kawaguchi''' as the culprit.
