Case

Situation

A man running away from a police officer stumbles into the Detective Boys, grabs Ayumi as a hostage, and collapses, with a big wound at the back of his head. He has no identifying papers on him, and in Beika Hospital, his situation is pronounced critical.

Conan and the Detective Boys track the man back, realizing he had the wound for quite a while, and finally find themselves at the backside of Beika Hospital.

The culprit is Tatsuhiko Kido. The smell of the paint stuck to the culprit and the victim. The two of them fought and the freshly applied paint stuck to them. As the fleeing culprit tried to shake off the victim, his button tore off. He was thrown to the ground and hit his head. Then the victim descended the stairs to the vacant lot below to got a taxi. As an evidence, the victim's fingerprints match to the fingerprint found on the culprit's car window. Kogoro (via Conan) revelead that the motive is magazine clipping.
