Situation

A robbery of the temple and Takenaka's concussive injury is reported when the earthquake struck Tokyo. Can Takagi deduce how one man wanted to perform two crimes in one night?

	Location: Teitan Shrine Victim: Head priest Age: unknown Time: 2:15 AM Culprit: Rokusuke Urasawa Although Urasawa tried to rob the shrine, the earthquake made the bells fall on him as he was searching the offering box. He was then knocked out, and, the next morning, the head priest found him unconscious and alerted the police.

The culprit is Rokusuke Urasawa. He mistakenly thought that he had murdered Takenaka during the robbery and was afraid of serving a decades long prison term for murder. He decided to rob the faraway Teitan temple in order to give himself an alibi. He intentionally knocked himself unconscious with the bells to make it look like he committed the robbery during the earthquake, and therefore was unconscious when the robbery at Takenaka's house took place. Before doing that, he was so desperate that he prayed and offered 200k yen, which he stole from Takenaka, in hopes of forgiveness. He believed that being charged with a robbery would be a minor offense and shorten his release, but nonetheless he confesses with Takagi's disapproval.
