* This case is the first confirmed case of Haibara being a Detective Boy, proven by her own badge, which is on backpack.

* This is the case that Conan actually got shot, and almost died, before ending up in the hospital.

* According to this site, Conan, Shinichi, and Ran's blood type is B-.

* This story arc began with Ran being highly suspicious on Conan's identity, and Haibara was the first one to voice what Ran may suspect.

* Even though Ran and Haibara have not shared a single scene together outside of the non-canon movies, when Ran finished her shower, she immediately asked "Where is Ai-chan?" even though she should not know her at all yet, however she may have seen her when she and Conan arrived at Agasa's place offscreen. In fact, she even went into the basement to say hi to her, only to be ignored by the little girl.

* Haibara did ask herself could she be running away, when she did not respond to Ran's greeting.

* There are many different types of caves.

* Although Haibara has not been shown with her Detective Boys Badge yet, she apparently had hers on her own backpack, making her now an official member of the Detective Boys.

* According to Conan, "Cave bats eat bugs and insects."

* Miwako Sato, Detective Kojima, Detective Kobayashi, and Wataru Takagi traveled through the cave, to apprehend the robbers, and as soon as Conan was dropped by the robber, Sato immediately went to help him.

* This is the case that Ran knew that she had the same blood type as Conan, probably because she and Shinichi do have the same blood type.

* Although Conan has been hospitalized in The Time-Bombed Skyscraper non-canon movie, this is the first canon case, where he has been hospitalized, and in this case, almost died.

+
* Ran donated 400ccs of her blood to save Conan, after he was shot.
* Although Kogoro appeared worried for a hospitalized Conan in The Time-Bombed Skyscraper, this case is one of the first signs that he was worried about Conan, and even more shocked that Conan's injury was not a regular cut, but shot by a gun, and required surgery, and had massive blood loss before being admitted into the hospital.

* Haibara explained how bad off that Conan was and added, "There is even the possibility of Nephropathy," to Kogoro.

* This is the first time that Sonoko refers to Conan as a rugrat.

* Hattori and Kazuha visited Conan in the hospital, and Heiji purposely got the wrong flowers in order to have a private conversation with Kudo, where Kazuha, Sonoko, and Ran can purchase proper flowers for someone in the hospital, and not the Nui kind, which apparently smell bad, according to Kazuha.

* Professor Agasa called Heiji in order for him to have a consultation with Kudo, since Ran is positive that Conan is Kudo.

* This is the case that Hattori stated, "If that woman really does know, there's only one reason whey she won't say so. She's waiting. Waiting to hear it directly from your lips."

* This story arc had 3 different cases involved.

* While Conan is in Class 1-B, this is the first case that reveals that Ran, Sonoko, and Shinichi are in Class 11-B, or at least Ran and Sonoko is.
+
* While Conan is in Class 1-B, this is the first case that reveals that Ran, Sonoko, and Shinichi are in Class 11-B.
* Tomoaki Araide saw Ran talking to a face-masked Conan before her performance in the play.
+
* This is the first 6 episode case or story arc.
* This is the case that Megure referred to Kogoro as a "That Murder Magnet. He even brought a disaster case to his own daughter's high school."

* This is the second case that made reference that Mitsuhiko and the Detective Boys think the Kudo house is haunted. The first was in A Haunted Mansion Murder Case.

* This is the first time that Shinichi Kudo accidentally called Ran "Ran-neechan," which Conan calls her all the time.

* This is the first case that one of Kudo's classmates mention that he is "coming to school with his wife," which happens to be Ran, who walked him to school.

* This is the first time that Shinichi whispered into Takagi's ear, which Conan periodically does to some policemen, and even Megure leaned in closer so that he can hear what is being whispered.

* This is the first cast that Shinichi encountered the Detective Boys as himself since Roller Coaster Murder Case, although they appeared to not remember him.

* Twenty years ago, Yusaku Kudo solved the Mr. Ooba case, and went upstairs tp the Beika Center Building's Observation Restaurant to propose to Yukiko.

* Kogoro did not notice that Haibara climbed in Agasa's car, or even Agasa's car parked nearby, while he was waiting in the restaurant for Conan.

* This is the first case that Ran refers to Shinichi as a "Deduction Maniac."

* This is the case that Conan said the Shinichi asks her to wait for him. He will return someday, even if it kills him.

<spoiler>

<spoiler>
* Haibara, when holding Conan at fake gunpoint, faked a story that after the Haido City incident, another Black Organization member started tracking her and found out her secret identity. They located Haibara and demanded her to kill Conan as the condition to return to Black Organization. It turned out the subsequent story line unfolded almost exactly as in Haibara's fake story, but Vermouth, who tracked down Haibara, would kill her rather then leave her a chance to return to Black Organization.

* This is the case that Heiji attended the festival, disguised as Shinichi Kudo, in order for Ran to see both Conan and Kudo together.

* Ai Haibara, under the disguise of Conan, used her hand to remove Heiji Hattori hand when placing on her shoulder; however, Hattori didn't recognize the difference between Haibara's hand and Conan's hand. It could be that, at that point, Hattori did not register the possibility that Haibara disguised as Conan.

* This is the first usage of Agasa's Voice-Changing Face Mask, and it's first user is Ai Haibara, while disguised as Conan.

* This is the first usage of Agasa's Voice-Changing Face Mask, and it's first user is Ai Haibara, while disguised as Conan.
* While Conan was in the hospital, someone stole some Potassium cyanide from a hospital storage room.

* Most, if not all of the suspects from the second case, seem to be employed at Beika General Hospital, and even the final suspect was tied to it, where Conan was hospitalized for about 13 days.

* Before the big reveal, Conan, who had a face mask on, acted uncharacteristically chill during the almost kiss scene with Ran, and not his normal jealous self.

* This is the first time that Hattori was disguised as Shinichi Kudo, where even his skin looks much lighter than normal, although he was unable to drop his Osakan accent, until Kazuha unmasked him.

* This is the first time that Hattori was disguised as Shinichi Kudo, where even his skin looks much lighter than normal, although he was unable to drop his Osakan accent, until Kazuha unmasked him.

* This is the second case that Shinichi Kudo made an actual appearance since Roller Coaster Murder Case, however it is due to an antidote prototype, which allowed Conan to become Shinichi, unlike the Paikaru in Diplomat Murder Case.

* This is the second case that Shinichi Kudo made an actual appearance since Roller Coaster Murder Case, however it is due to an antidote prototype, which allowed Conan to become Shinichi, unlike the Paikaru in Diplomat Murder Case.

* This is the first case that Conan takes a prototype of the antidote for APTX 4869, which allows him to temporarily become himself for an unknown period of time.

* This is the first time that Kazuha ever saw Shinichi Kudo, which proved to her that 'Kudo' really is a guy.
* This is the case case that Ran saw Shinichi Kudo and Conan Edogawa together, at the same time, so she finally ceased her suspicion that they were one and the same.

* This is the first case that Shinichi Kudo asks Megure to keep his involvement in this case a secret, face-to-face, before Conan had to do it with his voice changing bow tie each time.

* This is the first case that Kudo begins to feel immense pain, and collapses, and even blacks out, although when he woke back up, he was still Shinichi Kudo.

* This is the first case that Kudo begins to feel immense pain, and collapses, and even blacks out, although when he woke back up, he was still Shinichi Kudo.
* This is the case that Hattori told the Teitan High School Teenagers "Don't say a word about this case," after Kudo collapsed.

* This is the case, where Kudo was able to attend School for 1 day, while Haibara attended Elementary School disguised as Conan for that same day.

* This is the case that Haibara had to reiterate that the antidote that she gave him was ONLY a prototype, since he is thinking it is permanent.

* This is the first case that Haibara, diguised as Conan, will be staying at Ran's house, until Shinichi shrinks back down to Conan.

* This is the first case that Haibara, diguised as Conan, will be staying at Ran's house, until Shinichi shrinks back down to Conan.
* This is the case that the other high school students are telling Kudo about the new English foreign English teacher, referring to Jodie Saintemillion.
+
* This is the case that Kudo planned to confess his feelings to Ran at the Beika Center Building's Observation Restaurant, which is where his father proposed to his mother 20 years ago.
* This is the case that Kudo planned to confess his feelings to Ran at the Beika Center Building's Observation Restaurant, which is where his father proposed to his mother.

* When Shinichi remarked that his parents left the country, and abandoned their son at home, Ran remarks that "he is just like Conan-kun," whose parents are in another country too.

* This is the case that Ran confessed to Shinichi that she "thought for the longest time... that Conan-kun was actually you! I thought after you got into a really bad case, you had to hide your identity. So you asked the Professor to make some sort of shrinking drug for you," which is really VERY close to the TRUTH, also proving that she is a better detective than her father.

* This is also the case that Ran remarked that now that Shinichi is back, she really feels that Conan-kun is a totally different person, which makes perfect sense, since Haibara is disguised as Conan. It is like she is sensing his aura, although she is too pre-occupied to notice Conan-kun's aura and voice has changed when Kudo returned, considering Haibara is not speaking in Conan's voice despite the use of a face mask voice changer, nor has he been investigating the crime scene at the school, which should have been a big tipper their.

* In short, Haibara may be disguised as Conan, however she is not talking or acting like him, at all, and if there were more crime scenes in this story arc, Ran should notice.

* This is the first case that a murder took place under the guise of confetti cannons and party crackers.

* This is the first case that a murder took place under the guise of confetti cannons and party crackers.
* During Kudo's second case, he told Megure to Refrain from using his name, which makes two different times in this story arc.
+
* This is the first case that Shinichi accidentally slipped up, and called Ran, "Ran-neechan."
* Kudo referred to himself as a new recruit in order to keep his name out of the case, which surprised Megure.
+
* This is one of the first cases that Shinichi whispered into the ear of some police officers, which is something he is more apt to do as Conan, rather than as himself. In short, another slip-up.
* This is the first time that the intense and immense pain of the antidote beginning to wear off begins during a case.

* This is the first case that Shinichi was unable to confess his feelings to Ran, before he became Conan again.

The Desperate Revival is a story-arc that appeared in both the manga and the anime. In the anime, the arc consisted of episodes 188-193. In the arc, it's apparent that Ran once again comes to the conclusion that Shinichi and Conan are the same person, and after Conan is shot by a group of thugs in a cave, he decides to tell her the truth. However, with the help of Heiji and Haibara, he is able to convince Ran that Conan and Shinichi are not the same. Plus, Haibara has created a prototype antidote for him, and he is now Shinichi! However, the antidote does not last long, and leads to heartbreaking results in the life of Shinichi and Ran.

When Ran comes over, Haibara goes to the basement for some important research and says she doesn't want to be bothered by anyone. The Wounded Great Detective (Manga: 254-255, Anime: 189-190)

    Cast

    Situation

As they rush the wounded Conan to the hospital, he is in need of a blood transfusion. Ran immediately offers her blood saying she has the same blood type as Conan does, and he thinks Ran already knows he is Shinichi.

Recovering in the hospital from his bullet wound, Conan contemplates telling Ran his true identity, since, Ran was already certain of who he was as she knew Conan's blood-type when she donated her blood, the same as Shinichi's. Additionally, Heiji and Kazuha drop by to visit him and Heiji warns him that it's best to be true, so he should tell Ran everything.

But Ai Haibara shows up and points a gun at him. She reveals that the Black Organization knew of her real identity and betrayal, but were willing to re-recruit her, as long as she kills Conan as well as the people who know who he is: his family, Agasa, Ran and Heiji.

The Third Choice and The Black Knight (Manga: 254-257, Anime: 190-191)

    Cast

    Situation

Later Ran is cast in a school play, while discussing the play with her friends, Conan shows up wearing a face mask due to a cold he had. Ran is supposed to play a beautiful princess who is rescued and protected by a mysterious Black Knight. Sonoko was originally cast as the Knight but has injured her arm so she cannot act, so Dr. Araide (who works as an aidé for a sports club in the school) is supposed to be the Knight now.

During the play Ran's "princess" is abducted by bandits (causing Kazuha, who is in the audience, to start screaming at them to leave her alone), but then she's saved by the Black Knight. Said knight has his face shrouded, so at first everyone thinks it's Araide, but the Black Knight appears to go off script embracing her and is about to kiss her, much to the horror of Kogoro, but the romantic scene is disrupted when a man in the audience falls dead, seemingly by potassium cyanide poisoning in a drink.

    Suicide?

    EP188-193b Case.jpg

    Location: High school stage
    Victim: Kohei Kamata
    Age: 28 years old
Cause of death: Potassium cyanide poisoning
Suspects: Yota Mitani, Mai Kogami, Yumemi Noda, and Ayako Ninagawa
Kohei Kamata died from poison in his own drink.

This last detail is revealed by a young man in the audience who seemingly turns out to be Shinichi Kudo, but is quickly revealed by Kazuha to be Heiji in disguise. After a series of questionings Heiji, although unsure of how the victim was poisoned was certain that the murderer was one of four prime suspects. The police are unable to find the source of the poison from the drinks. As they are able to rule the death as a suicide, the still masked "Black Knight" declares it was a murder...

    Manga to anime changes

    • The Wounded Great Detective: When thinking over whether to tell Ran his secret, the manga version of Shinichi recalls his parents' parting words from The Cornered Famous Detective! Two Big Murder Cases. The anime omits that scene.
    • The Third Choice: In the anime, after it's revealed that Shinichi is really Heiji, Megure made a comment about how they don't need anyone else showing idiotic behavior like Kogoro (prompting an annoyed stare by Kogoro, with Megure passing his comment as a joke).
