Beika Town
+
Chiyoda Ward
Beika Town is where Conan and a majority of the other main characters live. Like Beika City, it is named after Baker Street.
+
Chiyoda Ward is a special ward in the city of Tokyo and contains its historic districts.

Mouri Detective Agency
+
Kasumigaseki
+
The district of Kasumigaseki contains the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Headquarters, which repeatedly appears in Detective Conan, Magic Kaito, and Zero's Tea Time. The 4th Block of Haido is said to be between it and Shinjuku's Yotsuya Station.
The Mouri Detective Agency is the place where Detective Mouri lives with his daughter, Ran. Conan begins living there when he is shrunk in order to gain more information about the Black Organization. It is located in Beika Town District 5. According to The Meguro Sanma Case, it is located on block 39, but this information is non-canon.

The Mouri Detective Agency takes up the upper two floors of a three story building. The second floor is the detective agency proper, and is where Kogoro meets potential clients and stores his files. The windows are lettered with "Mouri Detective Agency". The third floor is the Mouri family living space. Part of the floor space is a living room with a kotatsu and television. There is also a small kitchen and a bathroom. Kogoro's bedroom, which is shared by Conan, has a sliding door out onto a small balcony overlooking the street. The agency is accessed via a covered staircase to the right of Café Poirot.
+
Marunouichi
 +
Marunouichi is a commercial district close to the Imperial Palace. It's the location of Tokyo Station ("Tōto Station" in Detective Conan) and implied to be close to the districts of Beika and Yaoya.

Kudo Residence
+
Chūō Ward
House where Yusaku, Yukiko, and Shinichi lived. Current residence of Subaru Okiya after receiving permission from Conan Edogawa. After Yusaku and Yukiko traveled to America, Shinichi stayed in the house by himself while continuing to attend Teitan High School. Notable features of the house include its massive size and a huge library with dozens of shelves filled to capacity with mystery novels from all over the world.
+
Chūō Ward is a special ward in central Tokyo, containing the famous district of Ginza which appears several times in Gosho Aoyama's works. It's also implied to be close to Beika.

According to the Detective Boys (who think it's a haunted house) in The Scary Building Case and the address on the letter from Teiji Moriya in The Time-Bombed Skyscraper, Shinichi's house is located at:<br>

Beika City Beika Town<br>

District 2, Block 21

The "2-21" number is a direct reference to Sherlock Holmes' residence at 221B Baker Street.
+
Ginza
+
Ginza is a business and entertainment district. It's also referred to as Kinza and Doza in different mediums of Detective Conan.

Agasa Residence
+
Nihonbashi
Located next door to the Kudo residence, this is where Professor Agasa and later Ai Haibara live. Agasa's residence includes an upper circular floor, a circular kitchen, and a lab where he works on various inventions and where Haibara works to synthesize an antidote to APTX 4869.
+
The Ono Bank from the Magic Kaito manga seems to be based on the Tokyo Bank existing in this district back then.
Agasa's house has a rarely seen backyard with his garage.

Agasa's house is located at:<br>

Beika City Beika Town<br>

District 2, Block 22

Beika Center Building
+
Minato Ward
Beika Center Building. It has a top floor restaurant called "Arséne" where Shinichi intended to confess to Ran in The Desperate Revival until a murder case interrupting things. Arséne is mentioned in file 976.
+

 +
Minato Ward is an important harbor of Tokyo City. It implicitly seems to be the location for the (fictional) Minato Police Station and the Minato Hotel. It also is the ward where Tokyo Tower stands. Beika seems to be largely identical to it in the manga of Detective Conan. It seemingly also was the model for a lot of settings in the Magic Kaito: Kid the Phantom Thief specials.

Mokuba-sō
+
Shiba Park
+
Location of the Tokyo Tower, said to be less than 1.34 kilometres (~0.8 miles) away from Beika.
Mokuba-sō was a small apartment building in between Agasa's house and Teitan Elementary where Subaru Okiya lived before it burnt down in an arson case. It appears in Mobile Suit Gundam. Mokubasou was located at:<br>

Beika City Beika Town<br>

District 2, Block 23<br>

Past residents were:

* Kaito Sugiura, a boy whose parents owned the house and a classmate of the Detective Boys'

* Ryuhei Hosoi (25 years old), a carpenter

* Mr. Sugiura, Kaito's father who has been injured during the fire

* Ginya Makabe (29 years old), a part time worker.

Teito Bank
+
Takanawa
Teito Bank is a bank near the Beika Department store where a robbery took place.
+
This district contains the Shinagawa Station (Kawashina Station in the movies), which is implied to be close to Haido.

Beika Department Store
+
Nerima Ward
+
Ekoda and several districts adjacent to it were the basis for Ekoda High School and its surroundings in the Manga of Magic Kaito and 100% Tantei Monogatari.
Beika Department Store is a multistory department store near the Teito Bank. It has a space for children to play on its roof. The floor with the sports department was hijacked by a bomber during the thirteen red shirts case.

Beika Post Office
+
Shibuya Ward
Beika Post Office is located in Beika Town District 3.
+

 +
The Shibuya Ward is an important business and entertainment center of Tokyo. The famous Shibuya Crossing, the Tsutaya Store, Shibuya 109 and the fittingly named Shibuya Station are part of it, all of which appeared in different works by Gosho Aoyama.

Beika Supermarket
+
It also contains the Harajuku Station in its eponymous district, which appeared as Karajuku Station in the anime and as Sorajuku Station in the movies.
Beika Supermarket is where Ran went to buy groceries. It is located in Beika Town District 2.

Beika City Building
+
Shinjuku Ward
Beika City Building is where the climax of The Time-Bombed Skyscraper occurs. There is a movie theater on the bottom level.
+
Shibuya Ward is the central skyscraper ward of Tokyo, containing some of its most famous building in the district of Nishi-Shinjuku, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Some districts of it were used as models for Beika in the expanded canon (anime, movies, Hanzawa the Criminal). The 4th Block of Haido is said to be between its Yotsuya Station and Chiyoda's Tokyo Metropolitan Police Headquarters.

Beika Park
+
Hyakunin
Beika Park is a park in Beika Town usually involved in cases.
+

 +
Hyakunin Town, especially the Shin-Ōkubo Station and its surroundings found there, were used as models for Beika and its own train station. In the movies, even the position of Beika Station seems to be identical to it, judging by route maps.

Beika General Hospital
+
Okubo
Beika General Hospital is a major Beika hospital close to the Beika Department Store where a would be murderer planned to take revenge on a doctor after his son died during surgery. Jodie Starling enrolled in this hospital after she was shot by Calvados during a showdown with Vermouth.
+
Okubo, is a district built around Hyakunin and the Shin-Ōkubo Station. Mentioned as Kokubo in the expanded canon.

Haido Town
+
Toshima Ward
Haido Town is a town in Beika City adjacent to Beika Town and is named after London's Hyde Park.
+
The residences of the Kuroba and Nakamori families are located in a so far unnamed district of Toshima Ward in the manga of Magic Kaito.

Haido City Hotel
+
Ikebukuro
Haido City Hotel was first introduced when Kaitou Kid landed on its roof before the Black Star Heist. It appeared again in Reunion with the Black Organization where Pisco assassinated a politician and Gin and Shiho Miyano had a confrontation on the roof. The dying mystery writer spent his finals days there in The Mystery Writer Disappearance Case. The White Day party for a candy company in White Day of Betrayal was held at the hotel. In The Reminiscent Golden Eye, a cat's eye gem targeted by both Kaito Kid and a rival thief, Chat Noir, was displayed in the Haido City Hotel on the night of the heist.
+
Ikebukuro, sometimes also called Sawabukuro in expanded canon, is a commercial and entertainment district. The Ikebukuro Station and PARCO Building (renamed "PAPCO") next to it from this district appear several times in Gosho Aoyama's works.

Haido Art Museum
+
Unknown city or ward
Haido Art Museum was demolished by Agasa's Tropical Rainbow bomb in Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 2.
+
Buroku
 +
Buroku Town is a fictional district located somewhere on a radius of less than 1.34 kilometres (~0.8 miles) between the Mouri Detective Agency and Tokyo Tower. It's probably a part of the Beika Ward.

Sutan Town is a fictional district located somewhere on a radius of less than 1.34 kilometres (~0.8 miles) between the Mouri Detective Agency and Tokyo Tower where Eri Kisaki was held captive in an abandoned house from which Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Sky Tree are equally visible. It's probably a part of the Beika Ward.

It once belonged to the multi-millionaire Renya Karasuma, who inherited it from his mother and hired scholars to search after the treasure for him. However, he killed them one by one to pressure the others to find the treasure. One of them was the archeologist Kyosuke Senma, who sent his wife and daughter Furuyo a secret message about his dangerous job. Two years ago, Shukuzen Ogami brought the manor to search for the treasure himself, but when he didn't find any, he and Senma planned to recreated the tragedy and invite detectives to search for them. However, Senma killed Ogami and was arrested. Conan, who was among the invited, solves Karasuma's riddle and discovers that the manor's wall is plated with gold. Only Karasuma could do something on such a scale, and it must be worth a hundred billion yen. Sunset being when the sky shines gold as the sun goes down, it is literally a "Golden Manor." Since Karasuma is a crow-like man, this mansion, made of gold and painted black, personified his nest.

Revision as of 11:19, 1 June 2020

The setting of the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan is a combination of real locations in Japan and fictional locations.

Contents

Tokyo Prefecture

Tokyo Prefecture (東京府 Tōkyō-fu?) is a Japanese government entity.

City of Tokyo

The Wards of Tokyo.

The City of Tokyo itself is part of the Greater Tokyo Area and consists of 21 special wards. In the works of Gosho Aoyama, there are a couple of fictional wards added to the city and the metropolitan area respectively.

Beika Ward

Beika Ward (米花区 Beika-ku?), alternatively Beika City (米花市 Beika-shi?), is a fictional special ward of Tokyo (in the manga) and a city in the Greater Tokyo Area (in the expanded canon) named after Baker Street, the location of Sherlock Holmes's flat. Beika City is divided into two towns: Beika and Haido.

Beika

Beika Town (米花町 Beika-chō?) is the district where Conan and a majority of the other main characters live. Like the Ward of Beika, it is named after Baker Street.[1]

Haido

Haido Town (杯戸町 Haido-chō?) is a district in Beika Ward adjacent to Beika Town and is named after London's Hyde Park.[1]

Chiyoda Ward

Chiyoda Ward (中央区 Chiyoda-ku?) is a special ward in the city of Tokyo and contains its historic districts.

Kasumigaseki

The district of Kasumigaseki (霞が関 Kasumigaseki?) contains the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Headquarters, which repeatedly appears in Detective Conan, Magic Kaito, and Zero's Tea Time. The 4th Block of Haido is said to be between it and Shinjuku's Yotsuya Station.

Marunouichi

Marunouichi (丸の内 Marunouichi?) is a commercial district close to the Imperial Palace. It's the location of Tokyo Station ("Tōto Station" in Detective Conan) and implied to be close to the districts of Beika and Yaoya.

Chūō Ward

Chūō Ward (中央区 Chūō-ku?) is a special ward in central Tokyo, containing the famous district of Ginza which appears several times in Gosho Aoyama's works. It's also implied to be close to Beika.

Ginza

Ginza (銀座 Ginza?) is a business and entertainment district. It's also referred to as Kinza (錦座 Kinza?) and Doza (銅座 Dōza?) in different mediums of Detective Conan.

Nihonbashi

The Ono Bank from the Magic Kaito manga seems to be based on the Tokyo Bank existing in this district back then.

Minato Ward

The Tokyo Tower of Minato from below in episode 4 of Detective Conan.

Minato Ward (港区 Minato-ku?) is an important harbor of Tokyo City.

Shiba Park

Location of the Tokyo Tower, said to be less than 1.34 kilometres (~0.8 miles) away from Beika.

Takanawa

This district contains the Shinagawa Station (品川駅 Shinagawa-eki?) (Kawashina Station (品川駅 Kawashina-eki?) in the movies), which is implied to be close to Haido.

Nerima Ward

Ekoda (江古田 Ekoda?) and several districts adjacent to it were the basis for Ekoda High School and its surroundings in the Manga of Magic Kaito and 100% Tantei Monogatari.

Shibuya Ward

Shibuya Crossing in Magic Kaito 1412.

The Shibuya Ward (渋谷区 Shibuya-ku?) is an important business and entertainment center of Tokyo. The famous Shibuya Crossing, the Tsutaya Store, Shibuya 109 and the fittingly named Shibuya Station are part of it, all of which appeared in different works by Gosho Aoyama.

It also contains the Harajuku Station (原宿駅 Harajuku-eki?) in its eponymous district, which appeared as Karajuku Station (空宿駅 Karajuku-eki?) in the anime and as Sorajuku Station (空宿駅 Sorajuku-eki?) in the movies.

Shinjuku Ward

Shibuya Ward (新宿区 Shibuya-ku?) is the central skyscraper ward of Tokyo, containing some of its most famous building in the district of Nishi-Shinjuku, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Some districts of it were used as models for Beika in the expanded canon (anime, movies, Hanzawa the Criminal). The 4th Block of Haido is said to be between its Yotsuya Station and Chiyoda's Tokyo Metropolitan Police Headquarters.

Hyakunin

Hyakunin's Shin-Ōkubo Station and Beika Station.

Hyakunin Town (百人町 Hyakunin-chō?), especially the Shin-Ōkubo Station and its surroundings found there, were used as models for Beika and its own train station. In the movies, even the position of Beika Station seems to be identical to it, judging by route maps.

Okubo

Okubo (大久保 Ōkubo?), is a district built around Hyakunin and the Shin-Ōkubo Station. Mentioned as Kokubo (大久保 Kōkubo?) in the expanded canon.

Toshima Ward

The residences of the Kuroba and Nakamori families are located in a so far unnamed district of Toshima Ward (豊島区 Toshima-ku?) in the manga of Magic Kaito.

Ikebukuro

Ikebukuro (池袋 Ikebukuro?), sometimes also called Sawabukuro (沢袋 Sawabukuro?) in expanded canon, is a commercial and entertainment district. The Ikebukuro Station and PARCO Building (renamed "PAPCO") next to it from this district appear several times in Gosho Aoyama's works.

Unknown city or ward

Buroku

Buroku Town (分禄町 Buroku-chō?) is a fictional district located somewhere on a radius of less than 1.34 kilometres (~0.8 miles) between the Mouri Detective Agency and Tokyo Tower. It's probably a part of the Beika Ward.

Sutan

Sutan Town (須単町 Sutan-chō?) is a fictional district located somewhere on a radius of less than 1.34 kilometres (~0.8 miles) between the Mouri Detective Agency and Tokyo Tower where Eri Kisaki was held captive in an abandoned house from which Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Sky Tree are equally visible. It's probably a part of the Beika Ward.

Yaoya

Yaoya Town (八百八町 Yaoya-chō?) is the fictional district where the Mine family's mansion is and in which Yaiba Kurogane lives during the course of Yaiba. There's a so far unnamed junior high school in or close to it, that was attended by Sayaka Mine, Takeshi Onimaru, and Keiko Momoi, which also seems to be associated with Ekoda High School.

Nagano Prefecture

Nagano Prefecture (長野県 Nagano-ken?) is located in the Chūbu region of Japan.

Sunset Manor

Sunset Manor

The Sunset Manor (黄昏の館 Tasogare no yakata?) is a huge western-style manor house in the isolated mountains of Matsumoto, six miles from a lonely gas station.[2] According to Kogoro, it looks more like Dracula's Castle, and up close even more like a haunted house. It once belonged to the multi-millionaire Renya Karasuma, who inherited it from his mother. It was brought two years ago by Shukuzen Ogami, who search for the treasure until Furuyo Senma killed him. It's a Golden Manor, made of gold and painted black, and since Karasuma is a crow-like man, personified his nest.

Osaka Prefecture

Osaka Prefecture (大阪府 Ōsaka-fu?) is located in the Kansai region of Japan and is the home to Heiji Hattori, Kazuha Toyama, and the Osaka Police Department.

Osaka

The 1912 Tsutenkaku Tower was built next to an amusement park but later dismantled in the 1940s in an effort to thwart American bombing raids. The current tower was built on the same site in the 1950s thanks to the efforts of the citizens of Osaka. The in series name for the Tokyo Sky Tree is Bell Tree Tower (ベルツリータワー Beru Tsurī Tawā?). Judging from the use of the name "Bell Tree", it seems it was built/is owned in series by the Suzuki Zaibatsu. The Sky Tree replaced the Tokyo Tower as the scene of the climax for Akako's face-off against Kaitou Kid in A Witch Sheds No Tears.
