Non-Canon Plot overview

Hijacked Department Store Case (Anime: 17)

The Kamen Yaiba Murder Case (Anime: 119)

This is Kamen Yaiba TV show. Kamen Yaiba is a normal young and good looking person who's always in the park with his childhood friend Rei Natsume selling hot dogs. But if something happens, he immediately drives to the scene and begin to battle the evil people or aliens. But, Rei does not know that he really is Kamen Yaiba. She only knows that her boyfriend often finds excuses to stop work, and ride away somewhere on his motorcycle. But every time, Rei forgives Kamen Yaiba with forgiving eyes. Ran can kinda relate to how she feels, and according to Conan that's almost how it works between Ran and him.

When the author was planning the story for Kamen Yaiba he made a scenario where his younger sister got killed. But, Kamen Yaiba doesn't fight for vengeance. He fights to maintain justice.

The Amusement Park Bungee Jumping Case (Anime: 149)

Moon, Star, and Sun Case (Anime: 163-164)

The Disappearance of Conan Edogawa (Anime Special: The Disappearance of Conan Edogawa: The Worst Two Days in History)

A Kamen Yaiba festival is used as a backdrop for an assassination plot. Statues of Kamen Yaiba are placed around and a theme tune plays in the background.

Kaitou Kid's Busy Date (Anime Special: Kaitou Kid's Busy Date)

In the manga, the 3-D movie that Kaito and Aoko go to is titled Captain E.T.; in the special anime version, it is a Kamen Yaiba movie. The original Magic Kaito manga predates the existence of both Kamen Yaiba and Yaiba, another one of Gosho Aoyama's manga.

Name Origin

Kamen Yaiba is a parody of Kamen Rider.

The name Kamen Yaiba is a combination of a parody of the Tokusatsu tv show Kamen Rider, as well as Gosho Aoyama's previous manga and anime Yaiba. The Kamen Rider franchise itself has had screenplays done by Toshiki Inoue. Trivia

  • The characters in the series are often compared to those in Detective Conan:
  • Kamen Yaiba is the cell phone background of Mitsuhiko's phone in Emergency Situation 252.
  • He's been referred to as Samurai Kid since around volume 30 of the English translation of the manga, which is what the translation used to call Yaiba whenever elements of that series made a cameo. This is an obvious translation error; they have similar names.
