Episode Prologue: The Second White Room

Shinichi, Ran, and Kogoro discover another password panel and a spoon above their heads seemingly floating in midair. Shinichi grabs at it and discovers it was being suspended by fishing line and realizes the spoon is a reference to a murder case he solved involving a psychic and a TV show program. Remembering the case Shinichi is referring to, Ran enters "MA-JI-K-KU" ("Magic") for the password on the panel.

Ran is surprised to discover "Magic" isn't the password. Shinichi enters the correct password "DO-K-KI-RI" ("Shock") and the door opens. As Shinichi, Ran, and Kogoro walk into the room they immediately duck to the floor upon hearing the sound of a gunshot. The password panel in the center of the room reads 2010.07.09 and has four blank boxes. Shinichi asks Kogoro if he remembers this case and Kogoro replies he couldn't possibly ever forget it.
