100% Detective Tale Case 3 (１００％探偵物語 事件簿三 100% Tantei Monogatari Jikenbo San) is the third chapter of the 100% Tantei Monogatari manga and the third chapter of its single volume. It was written and drawn by Yutaka Abe, with assistance by Gosho Aoyama, and originally appeared in the Missy issue #5/1987, released in May 1987. It features a crossover with Magic Kaito, which started the same month, as a promotional tie-in and establishes a shared universe with the series after sharing settings since the beginning, which was later confirmed by Aoyama.

Continuity
- The students of Ekoda High School wear their winter uniforms (October 1st - May 31st) during this chapter. This is reinforced by this chapter happening on February 14th, Valentine's Day. The latter would also set this story and the appearances by Kaito Kuroba and Aoko Nakamori, who attend the second year with Momoko Aoyama in both series, concurrently to "The Scarlet Temptress" of Magic Kaito (see below).
Crossover
Magic Kaito
The chapter features a crossover with Magic Kaito by Kaito Kuroba and Aoko Nakamori appearing, since they go to the same school as Momoko Aoyama, the Ekoda High School. This story also happens on Valentine's Day, making it happen concurrently to "The Scarlet Temptress" (MK Manga: 6, MK Special: 4, MK1412: 5), where Momoko in turn also appears (and gets mentioned in the TV special). With this chapter Gosho Aoyama confirmed that both series share a universe and that Momoko, Kaito and Aoko are in the same class, the 2-B of Erika Konno. He also wrote on bonus page of 100% Tantei Monogatari that he intended to have a battle between Momoko Aoyama and Kaitou Kid later on, but for reasons unknown, it never worked out.[1]
