By rearranging only of the five matches, they should be able to turn the "10" into a "1", but the shape has to stay the same. Thinking she just solved it, Sonoko says that one can just look at the matchsticks sideways and all the matches would overlap and look like a "1", but Conan comments says it is probably not the answer, as she has not moved a single matchstick. As Sonoko gets angry, Conan decides to help her out a bit and knocks down his glass of water. As Ran helps Conan clean the spilled water with Sonoko reluctantly apologizing, Sera sees Ran's wet towel and realizes how to solve the puzzle. The answer lied in the towel, which can be used to hold the matchstick from the "1" next to the "0" upright so one matchstick stays in the middle of the square laid out by the other four matchsticks on top of the towel, and looking from above, it would look like the die face for 1 : "⚀ ". Ran and Sonoko praise Sera, while Azusa comments that it is the first time a customer ever solved it. Amuro arrives at the table and says that Sera probably got the hint when Conan purposefully spilled the water, but Conan denies it, while Sera asserts that she solved it by herself.
