Conan uses Kogoro and proves Ichiro is the murderer and that his motive was because he was in love with Natsue, who became engaged to Takeshi. Ichiro revealed Gozo rejected his proposal for marriage with Natsue and humiliated him. After learning of Takeshi's past, Ichiro murdered Joseph and framed Takeshi In the end, Takeshi talks to Natsue and tells her he planned to avenge his father but fell in love with her and gave up on revenge.
