His agencies were the Japanese Child Actors' Agency (日本児童), then Fukuta Agency (副多事務所)<ref name="Aoni"/>. He then stopped acting to focus on his studies and after graduating from high school, he failed his university entrance exams<ref name="Miki"/>. Not knowing what to do, a friend gave him flyers about different jobs available and a theatre job caught his eye<ref name="Miki"/>.
