As a token of gratitude, Sumiko gave Shiratori a soda cup with a paper ~~ring~~ whose parts looked like the symbol of ~~Tokyo~~ police: ~~Sakura~~ petals. Shiratori was so ~~impressed~~ that, despite not even knowing her name, he decided to ~~join the Tokyo police force because of her influence~~.
