== Biography ==
Before Moriyasu Taniguchi had formally become an animator, he has worked as a designer for the [[wikipedia:Nishijin-ori|Nishijin-ori]] industry, at a mannequin production company, and at a commercial film production company as well.

His teacher was named [[wikipedia:ja:岡迫亘弘|Nobuhiro Okasako]] {{jp|岡迫亘弘}}; after Moriyasu debuted in the period of the 60s to the 70s, they collaborated jointly in many animation works produced by [[wikipedia:TV Tokyo|TV Tokyo]] {{jp|テレビ東京}} back then.

In the early 1970s, he established Studio Cam {{jp|大阪にスタジオカム}} in Osaka; [[Hiromi Muranaka]] and others joined, which then they participated in the production of ''[[wikipedia:Science Ninja Team Gatchaman|Science Ninja Team Gatchaman]]'' {{jp|科学忍者隊ガッチャマン}}. Although Cam was later dissolved, from 1975 onwards he was active mainly in mecha works produced by [[wikipedia:Toei Animation|Toei Animation]] {{jp|東映アニメーション}} and [[wikipedia:ja:サンライズ (アニメ制作ブランド)|Sunrise]] {{jp|サンライズ}}, this also included works produced by [[wikipedia:Tsuchida Production|Tsuchida Production]] {{jp|土田プロダクション}}, where Nobuhiro Okasako was affiliated with.

In the late 1970s, along with Hiromi Muranaka, he established animation studio [[wikipedia:ja:アニメアール|Anime R]] {{jp|アニメアール}}, which was then rather popular in the 80s<ref group="Note">'''Note:''' Nonetheless, Muranaka got independent from Anime R, in which he created his own studio named Studio Mu, with the intention of creating a duplicate of the former studio.</ref>. At first, they started out by recruiting graduates from Osaka Designer Academy {{jp|大阪デザイナー学院}}, where a friend of Taniguchi's was a lecturer. Thereupon produced ''[[wikipedia:Space Runaway Ideon|Space Runaway Ideon]]'' {{jp|伝説巨神イデオン}} in 1980. On the other hand, in its sequel, Taniguchi's realistic and stylish character portrayals and beautiful mecha effects drawings were noticeably outstanding from the studio.
